Oh dear..I've been naughty...couldn't help myself this morning, it was all just too much!!

I sent a txt to SEN reminding them that 3 other teams are in the prelim, not just the Pies!!......it was sickening!!

I think it got the better of others as well...a Cats lady rang and said if she heard the word collingwood again she would turn off the radio, then a Saints man rang and said Cats had to thrash Pies on behalf of every other club!!

Of course, it was implied that they were whinging..

Hopefully they get the message tho..

I believe they will peak next year if anything. They'll be in the hunt in 2011 but next year will be their best hope.

I think all of them will go around again next year, but i would expect one or two to leave next year. They will definitely look at getting Hall now, a genuine marking target is what separates them from the better teams.

Hall is a good fit, is only a one or two year pick up, which fits in with their current window. Also means they aren't giving up much to get a big forward, so they can still draft this year and next year to fill the gaps that will be left by 3 or 4 guys over the next one or two seasons.

On a side note, very happy the saints got up. Now we just need the cats to get up tonight and normality is restored to the world.

Dogs should win it next year. God that was a tough last quarter, credit to both sides.Have to feel for the loser after an effort like that. Can't see Saints winning the big one though.

I believe next year is the Dogs final year to be able to win a premiership. They fail each finals series, only have won one match in the finals this season (same as us, yet we came 6th). They are only a real shot next year if they get Hall, if not, they are in serious trouble. They will need to start a rebulid in 2011 which is the worst possible time ever with early draft picks going to the Gold Coast in that year and Western Sydney in 2012. They could be out of finals for 4-5 years after 2010.

They have the feel of us in '03 about them. One more year and then they're seriously going to collapse in a heap.

If they can trade in a Hall or similar and, at the same time, have someone like Grant come through the ranks, then they'll be a very good chance of going all the way. But that will require Eade to re-structure their side. If they need to do that, it will take half a season to adjust, running the risk that they fall out of the top 4, making it very hard to win a flag.

I got the impression that even if they had won last night, it would have been despite their structure, not because of it. They almost could not have played better but still lost. Riewoldt changes teams and they win by 6 goals.
