Yes it would be good if we could all have the same attitude to men's and women's footy. Instead we get posters in this thread insisting "fierce arguments" aren't allowed because women's footy discussion is supposed to be nicer.

People who make great contributions to the game should be respected accordingly (not have their accomplishments diminished by uninformed idiots repeatedly spouting illogical conspiracy theories), regardless of club or gender.

My post ~40 minutes ago (in reply to a different poster) was about respecting great contributors to the game. You've quoted it and responded with something that doesn't relate at all. Not sure what you're on about.

I’m sorry but this really me off….if last years next to votes in the main award for Garner was mind blowing..
this is just another display by so called experts backed by the AFLW l would assume with the use of their logo….
with an inaugural so called credit awards ….who the heck are these people…
After her display and 10 coaches votes….now these guys and gals must now a thing or two about players …. on this…. Either they (aflw media experts) are becoming totally incompetent to her abilities as a player or are deliberately ignoring any input she has as a player……rant over…

They have to pick five players from nine games - every week a lot of great performances will go uncredited.

Having said that... I didn’t watch all the games, but having watched Chloe Molloy a lot, I feel like the red and white gear is already getting her extra positive attention.

it’s just frustrating…..will watch to see if it changes during the season..
Agree that the colours might be working for her…but could argue ally morphet had a better game….

Question: Why don't our female players have their own individual threads?

There are threads for male players that never played an AFL game, yet players like Garner, Randall, Kearney who are all approaching 50 games for North Melbourne don't have a thread.

Sure, talented, but not Jassy Garner or Emma Kearney talented.

I quite like Chloe and think she would look great in Royal Blue and White, but there is no way she is as talented as Garner, unless she speaks a dozen languages and plays guitar and well as Robert Fripp, Dick Dale or some of the other greats. She can't match her on the footy field.

Yep. I like Chloe too and would love to have her in the royal blue and white, but she is nowhere near talented enough to tie Jassies shoes.

Garner isn't even as talented as Emma King, let alone Chloe Molloy, Ellie McKenzie, Ebony Antonio, Tayla Harris etc.

That she's clearly a better player than all of the above is the result of having spent more time understanding her game and accepting feedback from coaches, while also being a more selfless teammate and a harder worker--things not typically associated with talent.

It could be said Garner compensates for her limited speed and jumping ability by being a naturally better reader of the play, although that was something Gowans made a point of highlighting about Molloy six years ago:

“There’s players that have got equal skills and are as quick as her,” Gowans said. “What the difference is, it’s the balance and her ability to read the play. That’s just something that she seems to be born with. It’s amazing, her sidestep and the way she keeps her feet.”
