You and your Bloody cryptic messages are hurting my friggin brain ...

As we discussed KA at the end of the day it’s just local footy and all good fun. With this in mind, I want to see Mont play ours in the GF. I truly believe all and sundry at Mont deserve it. However, I want to see a good solid game of skillful local footy without the yellow cards, red cards and the finger pointing. Of which I believe is an achievable outcome :thumbsu:

Regards

bahahahaha. Matt Niel got a suspended sentence for "striking an umpire" what a joke.

There should be either of 2 outcomes of the trial..

It was a total accident
or
He did it on purpose

If he did it on purpose a normal punishment for striking an umpire would be banned from football for years.

If it was an accident he should be cleared...

But insted his given a suspended sentence of 6 weeks? There explanation probably is you can run into an umpire no matter what???? Now why the **** wasn't Justin Murphy given the same sentence. Both did EXACTLY the same thing. Accidentally ran into the umpire.

I think the league is attempting to cover there arse here attempting to make themselves not look like idiots for giving out red cards for nothing.

Well guess what they look stupider then ever.

My understanding of the two incidents was that Niel was reported by the goal umpire as he believed that Niel tried to clean up the field umpire. Whilst Murphy was running towards goal with the footy and his intention was to have a shot.

exactly. Are surely if you were found guilty of purposely running and taking out an umpire you would be given more then a suspended sentence.

Toughen up you Girl.

Toughen up? After 2 reds and about 48 yellow cards - , that won't work. Calm down Brucey.

Great first half on Saturday. Very entertaining , but a pointless contest after that. Felt Heidelberg used the ball bit better early and little Favrin was the difference.

All systems go to regroup against the Doggies this week. An 8 day break and here comes the Mont Machine. Will take a leaf out of Bergers' 06 campaign and get up in the Prelim. Doesn't local footy drive a passion that AFL can't.?

Look at the highlights from the 2nd semi, At 0.53 their is a mark taken by Houlihan, Curtly was yellow carded for that spoil and for some reason then got 2nd yellow which saw him out for the rest of the game. To say Monty lost the plot is complete bullshit. There was absoultely nothing in it as their wasn't for Watto's yellow, Matty Neills red, Santoro's 2nd yellow or Attards red.

Oops.No automatic off for the rest of the day in the rules for two yellows.Don't tell me the Mont.hierarchy/bench penalised themselves.Hot heads make poor decisions or is it juSt that you don't know the rules ALG.

Ex North Heidelberg here, are Norf a chance to knock off Mont this week?

going by the results of previous monty north clashes this year.you would say monty go in as huge favourites, but their confidence may have been severly dented by the weekends match against heidelberg.
the weeks break for north would have done them the world of good, had a few underdone against bundoora and have a few back that missed as well.
they can knock them off but would need all their big guns to fire on the day.

Do they have a full list to choose from apart from the suspended green?

2 yellows in the same game results in a red being issued.
the player is then off for the rest of the game.

Cheers mate ;)

How's Jason Dean been playing this year? I heard Gadget made him captain?

I think mont played quite well and will physced to win this and have another shot hopefully properly at the bergers.

i don't go to training so am not sure about the team until game day,but apart from j green,i am sure someone else was suspended against bundoora j wright maybe??
saul would be out you would think but hopefully martello, florence and bramwich will be back.they all missed bundoora game.
jason dean is indeed captain, was best on ground for mine against bundoora and has had a very good year.
i have no doubt mont will be fired up,i expect nothing else from them after what happened on the weekend, but there is a place in the grand final at stake and know the doggies will come out and want to avenge their two performances against monty this year,so can't wait till sunday, hopefully it's a great game and that the game is talked about for the footy only and not anything else

2 yellows in the same game results in a red being issued.
the player is then off for the rest of the game.

Thanks "Blower" for such a quick official ruling on this matter.Apologies to ALG and the Mont hierarchy/bench.

Important though to have a clear understanding on "card" management before Sunday's clash.Let's hope, as others have expressed, the game is played in the proper spirit of local footy and no crap from either side or "Blowers" colleagues that ultimately leave people with memories of a prelim.final for the wrong reasons.

After reading alot of dribble and 'sooking' over the past three pages I would like to make a few points.

1- The incident in which Neill was sent off is obviously completely different to the Murphy one. For the Mont supporter to claim them as being exactly the same is idiotic. Neill was running back towards goal square to defend against his opponent and on the way clipped the umpire, accidental I agree, but was obviously interpreted that it was intentional by the goal umpire, where as Murphy had the ball and the umpire was clearly out of position and probably cost Heidelberg a goal. So in this case Mont should be praising the umpire (hard to do I understand)

2- Was reading in the NFL record on Satdurday and had another glance yesterday and noticed Jarryd McGough's penpic (the part they explain a little bit about the player). I cant remember the exact words but it was something to the extent of "GUN! Handy back pocket who never gets beaten....NEVER!". Now to say he never gets beaten is a fair wrap, but if your going to write that you would hope he doesn't get 3 kicked on him in the first quarter by Mark Favrin, who was his direct opponent in that first quarter and the man who got the ball rolling for Heidelberg up forward. Just an observation

3- As everyone has stated umpires were TERRIBLE! But they were terrible for both teams. Heidelberg copped just as much of the rough end as Mont, it was only that Mont had more players sent off because they were over stepping the mark at times resulting in cards being given out. I felt that some of the cards were harsh, as far as red or yellow, but in general play Heidelberg were dealt with just as bad as Mont, but controlled their aggression towards the ball rather than the man when the game was slipping away from Mont.

To this weeks clash, the Dogs will feel they are a real chance now. As someone stated before, Monts confidence has a taken a severe dent and with players out expect the Doggies to be up and about early doors. For mine, the Dogs to get over the line by 15 points. Should be a thrilling contest down at Windy Hill.

3 Field Umpires will be used for this weeks Prelim and Next Weeks Grand Final.

3 Boundary umpires will be used for the Grand Final.

more red and yellow cards can be given.

is this for A gradeonly or for both B grade and C grade also?

Get ya hand off it.

'A' Grade only.

The umpires association has wanted 3 umpires in the finals for the last few years however the previous umpires coach was against it.

There will be 3 field umpires this week and next week (chances are the same 3 umpires both weeks). Three boundary umpires is for the Grand final only. Both 3 umpires systems will work simular to the AFL.

After the comments over the last 2 weeks about the umpiring in division 1 this final series there is going to be shocked 'big footy' readers on Sunday.

should be very interesting this sunday spewin i cant make it
wonder how mont will go with the same two umpires from last saturday.
if they take their aggression out on the ball rather than the yellow blokes it should make for a good game
