Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Full marks to Hurstbridge Footy Club yesterday 3 good games on a quality surface, (huge improvement from the playing surface of the past). Cans on ice all day, they also supplied a huge tray of hot dogs to the Morang seniors after the game in the change rooms. Great to see local footy thriving and good will gestures shown by Hurstbridge yesterday will keep our game real healthy.

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

From all reports, good win by Lower against Mernda. Does not surprise that Paddy Curran can`t help himself with his cheap shot coward acts in belting blokes during the game, almost made a career out of it. Perhaps should consider retirement if he see`s that as the strength in his game.

**** off brutal. Patty has been well changed the last few years and has one of the people that the youngs blokes look up to at the club in the last few years. The only reason he fired up on saturday was because two of your bigger blokes were havin a go at an 18 year old weighin in at all of 65kg. He went in looked after the young bloke and broke things up. Just because all you lower blokes went running with your tail between your legs whenever he went near the ball don't go making excuses. Your seniors have some skill but are butter just like the u19s we took to town.

Skill and we won the hard, contested ball a lot better than you. That's hardly butter. Curran thru an uppercut in a pack out of frustration when we were running away with it in the 3rd quarter and he was getting beaten convincingly in the ruck. The player had to get 4 or 5 stiches - which is probably more than the possessions that Curran had for the day!

Butter boys thats all you were. Sure you had the skills and had alot of handy players but most of the team couldn't run a straight line at the footy all day from the 19s thru to the seniors. One of our young blokes was sent to emergency almost needing stitches in his lip from an elbow in a pack. Was it deliberate? Who cares? You blokes are just hanging it on Patty because he is an easy target when your behind the keyboard. Tell me why didn't your blokes let Patty know how you felt about it when it supposedly happened? Im not saying you should have thrown punches but at least stick up for your team mates. I played against your 19s and they were soft. as. butter.

I also had a great elevated incident in question from the back of the truck following the ball around. Im sure you didn't miss that.

The player did go to remonstrate but was sent off under the blood rule. He wanted to come back on to give him a bit back (fairly), but was told to go and get stiches.

I dont know how we won the majority of the contested footy if we weren't running in straight lines. There is nothing wrong with our hardness, which is why we are near the top and you are just making up the numbers!!!

You blokes in the truck could have at least kept that music playing cause it was getting a bit boring out on the ground.

This will be a first from me re Curran, But I could not believe how well controlled he was against us. I really believe the bloke has mellowed over the past couple of years and just wants to enjoy having a kick. But if he was playing for us I would expect him to look after the kids as would everyone else.

unfortuntely on the other hand (some views may differ bad?? or good??) he will wear the stigma of his reputation forever even if he makes accidental contact supporters will see it as deliberate.

And I'm sure he has probably mellowed. Apart from that one incident he was fine, as he was against us last season. Just think that one incident was a bit dirty.

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Just reading through the posts this morning and It suprises me that anyone from Mernda can call our seniors butter. They obviosly have no clue what they are talking about, or probably just too pissed. Yep, I would be an alcoholic too I if lived that for out, nothing else to do but get blind.

Yes, our 19's and 2nd's had off days, and most would admit we were beaten by better sides on the day, but how can you call our seniors soft when the scores blew out to nearly 100 points at one stage. Maybe you could promote a few of the under 19's ahead of some of the *******s that were running around in your seniors. Maybe a better question is, are the the u19's a bit buttery? Or maybe Mernda are happy to drop down to 3rd Divi next season.

Having played Mernda just a few weeks ago and seeing how soft they were, sounds like the pot and kettle story......

D3 - Won't happen with the whispers that D2 GF teams will go up to D1
and no-one will be relegated. Reservoir will be back, Fawkner.........who knows.

lmid, I was at those games they were a pretty good standard and I did see a few Morang players eating hot dogs, did you get your hands on one or two.
They tell me Fraser is playing well in the 2's and he is happy to help out and play any were the coaches won't him to play, that's gotta be good for the young blokes at the club to hear that.
Morang look young & up, running!!!!!

I believe South Morang average age is only 21, you must have some kids in the side. All is well for the future. Are all the older players playing in the seconds .

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Look boys. I know our seniors are struggling this year and I know lower have some really good footy players running around. I just think the club as a whole has built up a buttery reputation. I have played them and research just about every year for the last 5 or 6 years. FYI every week this year we have had two u19s playing in the seniors side. I have explained before why the 19s are all playing together this year and the future of the club is in good hands. More then half of the 19s have played seniors this year so don't think that its because their scared. Sure our seniors may be struggling but don't make comments if you don't know the full story about the 19s.

patta, I did talk to Morangs Pres, he seems a nice OLD bloke, he was saying the average age is approx 22 yrs of age of the boy's, so patta you must be doing your home work or you are close to the club.
I have seen a couple of the older fellow's running around in the two's and they are doing well.:D

You've hit the nail on the head, don't make comment if you don't know the full story. Why make presumtions about other clubs seniors if you cant back it up with anything. Merda got beaten in the seniors by over 10 goals in sloppy conditions, are you saying your seniors were harder at the footy? I doubt it. Why would you call them buttery, shows what an idiot you are. Piss off back to the under 19's page where you can keep pumping up your own tires. No one want's to hear excuses of why your under 19's aren't playing seniors. Selfish if you ask me, these kids are happy to be the big fish in a little pond. Seniors should come first

South Morang are defiantly going places they may not be in the preimership race this year (mind you anything can happen in finals if we get there) but with how young the side is and a few more years of experience this side will be pushing for years to come. There is still alot of talent coming through the 19's that will be very good senior players in a yr or 2.

As for the 2's they have a great mix of pace/talent and old heads and it makes a great combination.

Whether or not the 19s go far this year we will look back on it and be able to say. **** that was a good year. In ten years time we will still remember the fun we had because we are all such good mates. When it comes down to it, Mernda has more of a chance getting some silverware in the cabinet at the end of the year. Lower will just float around the middle of the pack until they find some testicles.

Maybe some of the under 19's could grow some balls and start playing where the club really needs them. It'll definitely be interesting come finals time. There could be some very big inclusions into the lower plenty under 19's side.

Maybe you should look at the ladders before saying that we're floating. Seniors 2nd, Reserves 5th, and under 19's 2nd. The club is in a stronger position than where you guys are at the moment.

You dont have a leg to stand on with your comments. We won the contested ball hands down - which would mean if anyone is soft it is you.

You just stay on your truck with your 19's mates yelling out tough comments from over the fence to your forwards to punch up our backmen, like you were all doing non-stop on Saturday.

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Haha boys. You all get reeled in just like the 19s did. Two of your 19s got sucked in and sent off just because of a bit of yapper and you blokes are the same. One of you even signed up just to post. Good luck with the year boys, your going to need it as much as us.

Re: Northern Football League Division 2
