Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Snorta.. you'll only still in it at the start of the last because of watsy wayward kicking at goal! watsy had control of the game all day and it must be a concern how much you guys just dropped ya heads once watsy kicked a couple early in the last?

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

I can honestly say that 90% of the players running around in the mernda 19s will stay on next year. Its just that sort of club. The same reason that players the likes of Phil Doeven and Matty Rees have stayed at the club.

hey goose there is a under 19's thread so go talk shit on that stop wasting our time on something we dont care about!!

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

peddo wont be going any where. has the backing of the players and the committe. hes done a great job with a very young side probly the youngest list in the leauge, so to be in the position where in we are happy. the last 2 games we have lost havent exactly been against shit opposition macleod, whittlesea.

dasha 38, soppa 28, conlin 24, elkins 24, the rest between 17-21

I agree Lalor is very young, you just need to take out Dasha to make the difference. I was listening to 88.6 on Saturday and they said that South Morang average age is 21. Good for their future.

Have Lalor got a few injuries at the moment. Have gone down to Parkside and Whittlesea sides that you think they would have won.

macleod has a young list last weeks side average age was 21 with 6 17 year olds playing so that is good for our future as well.

I think the top 4 are certainties, leaving Watsonia, Sth Morang,
Thomastown & Parside to fight out the final 2 spots

Watsonia - Mernda home, Lalor away, Macleod away, Whittlesea home, Lwr Plenty away. Will only win 1 and that's no certainty
Will end up on 9 wins

Sth Morang - H/West home, Parkside away, Mernda away, Lalor away, Macleod away. Should get 2 wins from this.
Will end up on 9 wins

Thomastown - Hurstbridge home, H/West away, Parkside home, Mernda home, Lalor away. Should win the next 4
Will end up on 11 wins

Parkside - 6 wins. Wallan away, Whittlesea home, Thomastown away, Kinglake away, Hurstbridge home. Should win 3 of these
Will end up on 9 wins

So I think Thomastown are safe and it's a fight for the last spot.
Parkside will miss out on percentage and it all depends on whether
Sth Morang or Watsonia can pinch a win against Lalor or Macleod,
or at least hold their percentages.

I could get down to the last game when Watsonia play Lwr Plenty
and Macleod play Sth Morang....interesting

Wow must have been in a pretty bad state, feel sorry for his wife having to hear that! Great to hear he has improved so much in a week and hope he can make a fight back to return to finals. Now if thats not inspiration for your team mates I don't know what is? All the best to him for a speedy recovery.:thumbsu:

Thats a fair summation.

I also believe the top 4 now will stay as the top 4 come the end of the season. Thomastown has the easiest run home of the teams, I also agree they will win 4 of the last five so they will firm up 5th spot. The real fight will be for sixth spot which will be between South Morang, Parkside and Watsonia.

I believe watsy will need to win at least 2 of the last five with a high percentage to confirm a position of making it through to the finals. so all up 10 wins with a high percentage should just about do it. With the hardest run home we will definately have to be at our best to do so.

Skipper Ace to take us there!:thumbsu:;)

good force

if watsy can continue there good form i have no doubt they will be in finals contention. a few handy players coming back from injury in the next few weeks should be interesting.

Will be an interesting battle for that last spot in the finals (Thommo already through with good draw).

With the way the finals are structured, the other interesting battle will be for the very important second position. Macleod will finish top you would think, leaving the battle for second down to Lalor, Whittlesea and Lower.

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Might be better to rest it 1 more week and make sure you completely right for finals.;)
i think i will be back for you guys should be a closer game than our first one early in the year

I certainly hope so!

Now that our team is settled and have gelled together I would imagine there would be a vast improvement since last time we met, which should see a much closer game. In saying that who knows what will happen on the day:confused:

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

force good rap for the skipper.

Yeah Ace is having a great year and been an inspiration for some of the younger boys. Good to have a watsy original leading the way for all the new blokes at the club!:thumbsu:

Looking forward to hearing the results for the games played between the top 4 teams on saturday, what are peoples tips?

here's mine:

Lower Plenty V Lalor - Lower Plenty with a home ground advantage.

Whittlesea V Macleod - Macleod, really can't see them losing one before the finals.

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Just Got A Text From Gilly Asking If I Could Put A Post On Big Footy For Him.
