If true players that are not getting regular games that play in first division will rush to them.

Better getting something than getting nothing playing in the seconds in first division.

Mate , Troy Luff has never played at Morang never will , has never been to the club and probably would not even know where it is let alone heard of Morang, no one at Morang won keno. as for Shauble more crap>

You will find a very wealthy committee member will ensure all payments to all parties are met as he has done for many years?????

Mernda had their 1st training hit out last night, 50+ training, a few Coburg boys included, some of the boys have been in the Gym, some havent.

st marys thats why, this is a strong junior club that will eventually succed as a senior club. being so close will just make it even tougher for you guys then what it is atm. from what i here yours got yourself out of trouble a few yrs back and atm are just creating that hole all over again. And most of all every guy i know thats involved at watsonia are shi# blokes just mark my word yours are gonesky, div 3 will help though

Mate you blokes at Watsonia are in fairy land. Should have merged with St Marys years ago and become the Saints. This club (St Marys) after fielding 19's next year will go to seniors in two years and just force you guys to become instinct (or with any luck you may still get the merge).
Me personlly don't believe that to be fair for you guys. With Lower, Monty, Greensborough, Bundoora, Macleod, West and Heildberg all within in a drop kick they should not have let St Marys in. 8 teams in a radius of 5 kil that is looking for trouble. Sounds like someone may have a personal interest in this. . The only good team there without full juniors is heildberg but they got the $$$ so that dont matter and the other team without juniors is West and you know how they have been travelling for years. So without juniors the writing is on the wall. Macleod is the club to look at for this example in the 80's and early 90's they were losing by 30 goals each week and where tens of thousands in debt (nearly folded 92'). Merged with Macleod Juniors just look at the club now if they had not done that they would have been travelling the same way as West, no doubt. I wish you luck because I have no idea where you are going to get juniors from.

You may be confusing Mernda with South Morang? rumour has it that they have quite a few Coburg boys signed and training. Plus a few others from other clubs. Morang could be the huge improvers next year. Even without Troy Luff and Andrew Shauble who both would not even know where or who South Morang is?????

GOOD AFTERNOON

I have just come from a press conference this morning that included the Minister for Sport- James Merlino, our local MP- Colin Brooks, The Mayor of Banyule -Wayne Phillips, and our local councillor Peter McKenna.

It is with great pleasure I can announce that the Minister for Sport today confirmed that the following funding has been fully approved, Banyule Council $400,000, State Govt $250,000, AFL Victoria $50,000, Riverside CC $190,000 & St Marys $190,000

Consequently the million dollar redevelopment of the clubrooms can now begin. Town planning approval has already been given, however working drawings & tender documents are yet to be formalised. We will meet again with council officers early in the New Year with the aim of trying to commence construction around the middle of the year

I would like to thank the committee of Riverside CC & St Marys GJFC as well as Phil Cattenazi, Tom Chapman & Livio Basile for the countless hours they have spent over the last 4-5 years bringing this project to fruition. I would also like to thank all our generous sponsors, who over the years have helped us fund this huge project.

There is still much to do with regard to further fundraising etc, however this is a great day for the St Marys & will soon see Australia’s biggest & best junior football club in a state of the art Pavilion with 4 change rooms plus a huge new social room approx 3 times the size of what we currently occupy.

I will endeavour to keep all our members updated with any news on the project as it becomes available

So far i have heard morang, panton hill, west heidelberg and watsonia will be massive improvers this year oh and macleod will win the flag , solve the global financial crisis , create peace in the middle east and make breast implants mandatory for every woman over 16 -
gotta go with the clouders on this one - hope they are taping that action minus the bogus commentary of course

Good for Mernda, as an old Mernda boy I"m happy to hear them going Ok. as for the rest if all the rumours are true then it may be good for the comp, make it a better and even standard perhaps. to be honest the quality of div 2 has dropped over the last few years. you got one of them aunities too?? ha ha

Yes stude, what on earth were they (council i guess) thinking. The plan was to have both change rooms overlooking the main ground to be used by "both" teams, with a shutter rolled down in between. Lucky they had junior rooms adjoined or it would have been more of a basket case.
There was supposed to be input (or people claiming so) from Sth Mor as to how it was designed before it was built. To be fair to Morang it looks obvious they didn't, (although strange things happen round there) but, it's not something you would put your hand up and confess to either. Another abortion by the City of Whittlesea, just like Mcdonalds road etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.......
