Maybe we can have a thread just for Macleod and Heidelberg people, their so modest :D

Precisely my point. I dont think there's any denying that they are going to be right up there, but to come on here and carry on about how many options they have and how it is going to be so tough to squeeze all there good players into 22. Save that talk for there own clubrooms. And belly, you can tell me to worry bout my own club, but im not on here telling everyone bout how great our team is going to be.

Blow me ! All I wrote was the options Macleod had this year and was
getting a bit excited about the season......Didn't say we would win it, didn't say anything about opposition teams. Go figure ?????

Maybe we should have seperate team threads so you can decide
what you want to read in future...

By the way , how's our past coach going at Lower ? Has he turned up
wearing his Macleod windbreaker yet ?[/quote]

i think he said he'd burnt it

they can have all the skills and guns in the world but won't win a flag til they get some balls and ticker.
spot on. Second to the ball all day in last years grand final. Bunch of pussies. Until the team gets some prick into it D2 is where they will stay. All skill but no HEART

With Heidelberg West meeting on sunday to let members and past and present players Know they look like not having a side in the Nfl for 2009 will the NFL still go ahead with div 3 after 13 rounds?

The meeting is to introduce the playing group to the new coach and to gauge exactly how many players the club will have on board in 09.

The NFL management will also be at the meeting so all is looking rosy for Heidelberg West (fingers crossed!).

I really hope west can keep there head above water but unless the NFL (yes you Jarrad) put some time and effort into them like you have with the Stars and St Marys then they will disapear forever....
its no good patting yourselves on the back for introducing new clubs to the comp if there are others going out the back door...
On a positive note for the NFL what a great job last weekend. great day, great cause... Congratulations...

question has to be asked, why would the nfl need to go to a club meeting that is introducing the coach to the players?

if i were macleod player the last thing i would want is blokes getting on here and talking up our options for the season ahead. I know you probly mean well but from an opposition club it looks like all your doing is making the club and players sound cocky, and knowing a few of the boys its far from the truth. It gives oposition clubs fuel to play better against ya.

Sorry stooge but your in the wrong thread, you need to take it to the Macleod thread. :D:thumbsu:

Let there be peace now they have gone. Go Mernda :)

poor turn out ?
Exactly what is the sittuation down there as you see it.
How many players turned up ?
What is the situation going forward ?
All this adds to the uncertainty, surely the nfl by attending a meeting such as this acknowledge there is an issue and as such they should come forward and make a statement relating to west heidelberg asap to avoid unnecessary/inaccurate comment
I could not agree more that the nfl should have been working to help west over the last twelve months rather than turning a blind eye to a situation that was clearly worsening.

about 50 ppl were at the meeting today they have a brand new committie and the comp has pledged to look after them and the word is that the are trying to get matty james back as coach

Really, maybe they should have not let him go in the first place, I'm sure north would have him signed on a contract by now. Best of luck to them, it's not good to see any club on it's knees.

JC said the meeting was a "meet the coach" meeting, have they still not got a coach???

Yeah get Matty back West very stiff not to win a flag when he was coach.30 of the people at the meeting will not play or should not, not much you can do with no coach and 20 players ,10 others already training at other clubs why come back to a club with no coach or hope.

I wonder if the powerhouse across the road are keeping an eye on things...

Heidelberg B anyone?

I don't know what the numbers are like over at heidelberg but surely if they could take charge and transfer 6-12 players and get the place up and running it could actually work with a bit of figuring out.

One thing for sure if they do go they wont be he last.
Sponsorship money will be very hard to get for the next couple of years and a few clubs wont be able pay players what they have promised let alone their bills.
I hope your club has a good committee, your going to need one.
Now would be a good time for high priced players to take a pay cut for the sake of the clubs.

Last week they had 8 - 10 at training. With no coach yet and very limited chances to recruit how can they possibly hope to get up and running within 5 - 6 weeks.

It is sad to see a club like this. What made them change their mind with the coach. After re appointing him word has it they let him go shortly after.

are you able to shed some light on why daniel left nth.i know it's only an opinion but daniel is probably a better pick up than jarrod at macleod.

Easily a better pickup then king. As anyone in divvy 2 knows 6ft2+ blokes are rare as hens teeth. Ones that can play footy even rarer. Mernda has had 8-10 new decent looking players come in this year and 6-7 of them are 5"11' onball types.

Drove past West Heid training last night, seemed to have about 30 on the track which is ok. Noticed that Heid, Heid West and Banyule all training on there grounds. Banyule council told us, even though our ground was in ok condition we could not access it as it would be unfair to those clubs whose grounds were not up to scratch. Whats the go with these clubs training on there grounds then?
