I have to mention something that occurred to me the other day and it was rammed home watching the disgraceful effort against North.

Did anyone else apart from me, think that the last quarter against Port was the most committed team effort we'd seen in ages? Ferocious at the ball, chased down every tackle, were throwing themselves in with no regard for safety. Just a brilliant team display, and in my opinion what won us the game.

Now then, which 3 players were not out there that day in Geelong colours?

1. Steve Johnson
2. James Kelly
3. Kent Kingsley

Not a coincidence that our 3 laziest players were absent and we won by virtue of courage and toughness. Put 2 of them back in and look at the effect it has. These guys must be shown the door.

Just my two cents worth.

Something to ponder over for sure...not so sure about Johnno though, it seems to me he's one of the few that actually contribute to the team? He doesnt seem lazy to me...

i dont think its about laziness anyway, its past that, we have other factors far more important than that which need to be fixed. Like actually not being afraid to go for a tackle...ok so thats laziness but in a different degree.

Corey Jones' 40 odd uncontested possesions off a half back flank say otherwise. The opposition coaches actually target Dog now and put a dangerous player(s) on him. Eade did it last week, moving Brad Johnson back onto the half back flank and Laidley did it this week. We couldn't trade him for Jason Cloke. Everyone is awake to the dog's habits.

Johnson is disgracefully lazy and insipid. I watched the bastard amble about for 4 quarters wanting you swear at the bastard.

Kelly and Dog are both disgraceful (I don't think laziness is Kingsley's biggest problem though).

One instance from yesterday's game illustrates the problem with Kelly. I think it was early in the second quarter when he was running down the wing with a Roos player (Corey Jones I think). The ball was marked by another Roos player on their forward flank with King on the mark. Jones accelerated and ran past calling for the handball. As the handball went over King's head to Jones, Kelly, who seconds before had been alongside Jones, slowed to a jog, pointed at Jones and told King to chase him. Kingy had to then turn around and go after him, and of course couldn't get anywhere near him. Jones simply kept running forward and hit Urch on the chest inside 50.

Maybe Jones is too quick for Kelly, although Cressa claims that Kelly is actually quite quick. Whether that is the case or not, any bloke who is having a fair dinkum dip would have put in a few hard ones to try to run Jones down, but not our mate Kel, he stops and yells at the 6'8" ruckman to turn around and do his dirty work for him.

The guy is a f***ing disgrace.
