My Dad worked for Cadburys for years. English chocolate was without par.

York had Rowntrees and Terrys and Bournville had Cadburys. All quaker family run companies who made sensational confectionary.

Sorry, Australia but your chocolate sucks.

The whole of Canada knows this, somehow the Australians missed out. You didn't even mention St Georges day last week on the ABC. The man who slayed a dragon to save fair maid. No doubt we'll get Diwali and Ramadhan in every broadcast.

Some of the best that survived:

Terrys of York

Terrys chocolate orange.
Terrys Old Gold

McIntoshes of Halifax
Rolo
Quality Street
Caramac
The lyrics of George Harrison’s song Savoy Truffle, first recorded by the Beatles on ”the white album” is a fanciful listing of flavours, some real and others imagined, in a box of Mackintosh's Good News Chocolates.

Rowntrees of York

Kit Kat
Fruit Gums

Cadbury/Fry

Dairy Milk
Turkish Delight
Flake
Creme Eggs
Fruit and Nut
Crunchie
Roses chocolates
Cadbury's products were first imported into Australia as early as 1853 when 3 cases of Cadbury's cocoa and chocolate were advertised for sale in Adelaide

Caramel filled choc coated biscuits excellent
Tunnocks wafers Fossie 32 as Molly Meldrum used to say "Do yourself a Favour"
Caramel, wafer, chocolate, available in supermarkets although a little pricey in
Australia. In Scotland a Tunnocks Wafer washed down by an iron brew soft
drink which is a weird combination of Fanta and Urine, is a must do.

They'll hang on the Dogs. They are gunna hang on. Mark this day down Western Bulldogs fans, Saturday May 2nd 2015. This club, oh this is just amazing, look at these scenes.
Swans game?

Just to let you know that I will be accepting this as a birthday present this year:

I promise that I will not tell any of my doctors.

Swans game?

Yep. Huddo's commentary.

I was actually at the game, and new it was something special. When I watched the replay in the hotel room later that night, my thoughts were confirmed and Huddo's words could not have been truer

I guess I picked the wrong week to give up chocolate 🍫 😉.

So many choices, so little time. My payday treat at one stage was a bag of choc-coated aniseed rings. I think Darrell Lea still have them.

These days the fall-back is usually the Cadbury roll.

Biscuits: TeeVee Snacks and choc-coated Teddy Bears are the best.

Nuts not sexist, but is derogatory to the mentally challenged - as is coconut :screamcat:

I just ate half a pack of the Arnotts Caramel Crowns  - experimental purposes only of course :$

For me it's peanut clusters, dark choc almonds and French nougat with pistachios (no choc).

Back in mediaeval times when I was a student I was given a whole retail box of After Dinner Mints. You know, the sort they used to have on display in specialist confectionery shops and delis, all individually placed in a glossy paper sleeve, so you could buy them singly or in weighed-out lots of 50-100gm for a dinner party if you wanted.

Anyway this box must have weighed about 2kg. I put it away early in the year and forgot about it. It lay there all year until exam time came around and I was locked away studying furiously (a rare event in itself). I'd study late into the night and would get the munchies around 10pm. One night I remembered the ADMs so I retrieved this 2kg box and placed it beside my desk.

I think I ate the whole lot over an intense weekend of study. Didn't touch another one for years.

When I was in undergrad most of my subjects after first year were essay-based rather than having exams. I kept a jar of Nutella and a spoon in my desk drawer while writing my essays. For my masters thesis I tended to go to the library to keep me focused, but when at home, I went through a lot of Killer Pythons.

Loved that win - great that you got to be there. You and Huddo were spot on.
