Hell even variance should be enough to account for half a length come Everest if they hold form and one just has marginally off/on day or different run in transit.

I'd prefer Pierata at this stage but CL a good horse and has room to improve. I wouldn't be shocked if CL come out and beat OB by 1.5 and 2L to 3rd. These horses like him and his profile can be so hard to place often overrated but because very hard to estimate accurately the improvement prep to prep and fitness start 1 to start 2. I generally underrate them in WA which is why they're so obvious over east. if OB beats him first up he has a very strong case for an Everest. Even if CL doesn't improve and OB wins he'd walk into top 2/3 in an everest market.

Yeah plenty going with this 'fitness' argument as if a sprinter isn't ready to go first up - seems a solid myth. Best horse won going away as will be the case on Everest day.

I like her, just not today. Would much rather be on in a Caulfield Stakes than today, word is she will be ridden cold too. Good prices for well weighted horses.

I think Mr Quickie is not even a bet and he gets 1.5kg swing for a 0.75L defeat and gunning her down. He may well be around her in the run today so she won't have that head start.
