Melb will only go after Gumbleton if they cant get Dawes, As we need another Key forward.

Im sure if u had to put up with playing Rance at FF and Grimes at CHF for half the year like Melb did with Garland and Rivers, Gumbleton even with all his inj would be upgrade.

Yeah, but Clark will be back next year, who is quality... And instead of trading a pick for Dawes or Gumbleton, draft a kid with potential. Or even look to free agency and pick up a decent stop gap who's cheap - someone like Aaron Edwards. It's not as if Melbourne will be challenging in the next few years - hacks like Dawes and Gumbleton aren't the answer IMO, especially when you're giving up high draft picks for them.

U can have more than 1 key forward Clarke cant do it by himself, I dont think Dawes is a hack no doubt he had a terrible year but he still is only 24 i think so has plenty of football left in him.

I figure they'd rather keep pick 3 unless it's a pretty compelling option, which I'm not sure that is.

They don't really need Toumpas as there midfield is already great, I see that trade as a great opportunity for them.

It gives them the chance to take Whitfield, Grundy, Plowman, and Stringer. Whitfield just the last great mid they need, Grundy the super ruck they definitely need, Plowman to strengthen up their KPD stocks and then after already securing those players can take a risk on Stringer either to go alongside Cameron and Patton or he could even turn out to be the best mid in the draft.

While the dogs get their man in Toumpas and downgrade 6 to 12 but that still gives us the opportunity to pick up Garlett or Stringer and also get Anderson too.

We could chuck in Marko too as a big bodied KPD to fill the hole until Plowman is ready.

Personally I think it is a smart trade for everyone involved.

U can have more than 1 key forward Clarke cant do it by himself, I dont think Dawes is a hack no doubt he had a terrible year but he still is only 24 i think so has plenty of football left in him.

Well good luck with Dawes if you get him mate. At best, he is a good ordinary player - and that was with one of the best midfield's in the comp...

12 to 6 is better for GWS than 5 - 3 is for us. Also they don't really need Anderson that much we can also chuck in a big body like Marko. I think its pretty fair.

your trying to get Anderson i like him too, i just think you win that trade pretty easily.

3 is a better player than 5 and you can get a slider at pick 12 like Stringer ect very nice and you get another pick around 15 in Anderson it is alot imo

The only reason 3 would be worth more than 5 to GWS would be if they wanted Toumpas, and I reckon they would prefer maybe Stringer and Plowman at 5 and 6 over another mid (they already have Ward, Scully, Whitfield, Coniglio, Tyson, Green, do they really need Toumpas) so they are basically upgrading 12 to 6, which is why we get Anderson (who I can't really see them needing too much)

As I said we could chuck in Marko to play FB (he really isn't as bad as people make out) until Plowman is ready to go.

I'd definitely be hanging on to Marko now that we got rid of Lake. Our options at FB are Roughy (who has played there about 5 times), Austin (injured a lot), Talia (too young to hold FB for a year) and Morris (coming off a broken leg).

Can't afford to throw away a decent FB as steak knives.
