Unless White is going to bowl close to his full 10 overs, then there's no point in him bowling at all. I think Ponting made the right decision. Anyway, I'm sure White will get his go before the series is out.

We just got beaten in the last test series and every man and his dog has been sniping at punter and the team.

He has a team comprising of the best players in the world on their knees, I don’t think he is suddenly going to take a chance just so the new kid gets to have a bowl.

you can only sub people with people who havnt battered yet.if Martyn goes out you cant replace him in the batting order you have to replace someone who hasnt battered yet meaning a bowler.

I meant if he wasnt out, but was going slow, sub in a big hitter to continue his innings

Eddiesmith, that would NEVER happen. The supersub rule is not designed for that.

Cameron White is surely a better batting prospect than Bracken and McGrath. He should have been selected in the regular side, with Bracken as the super sub. This would have strengthened our batting line up.

Then when we are bowling, Bracken could have come on for Martyn or someone else who offers little value wehn we are bowling.

Although I thought that was the perfect time to bowl him, game virtually won with less pressure, good way to let the debutant get some overs under his belt and get it outta the way

In the end we won, and that's all that matters, Punter captained well yesterday

Yeah I was talking in terms of the mindset of the captain and the team. I think they were feeling massively under the pump and they were going to be absolutely ruthless until the final wicket was down.

If we bowled first, we could have subbed White on for McGrath after his 10 overs to bat in the next innings.

White is a much better choice for the sub than Bracken.

Cullen - a good player, will be next spinner I guess.
macgill - nsw player quota already filled. never a ODI international player
cassin - dunno anything about him
kreijza - another nsw player?
