Have heard but I cant remember but if were you Id be more interested in his other nick name

Unco?We only need him to jump into other blokes and wrestle so his skills aren't that important. Our rucks don't get many posessions as a rule.We just play around them.

I disagree with everyone that says we would have won against sydney if Chambers played. In the last game against richmond he got pushed around many times just like H did at the end. If king and Otto are fit Sarge doesn't get a game, simple. In my opinion pick 35 is a good result for GFC.

Does anyone know which players will most probably still be left at that time that are worth being picked up? Or should we trade our 2 picks in the 30's for a ready made player? I have no idea

Pick 35 is not too bad

In reality Blake had overtaken him by the end of the season and was prefered

That means that King, Ottens, Blake and even Mooney are all ahead of him.

We'd have to have a horror run with injuries for him to get a game and if we didn't then he would have been delisted by years end anyhow.

We've now got 3 picks inside 35 which is good and about all we need.

Use our 3rd round pick on a mature age player being fire sold on Friday at 1.45pm.

Time for this goose to step up :)

Its tough to pick just who will go 20 or 40 but if we use history as a guide we should get a quality kid

1999 , P38 Cam Ling , P47 Corey Enright
2000 , P44 Josh Hunt
2001 , P41 Henry Playfair
2004 , P62 Matty Egan

I feel this a year that we will look back at in two or 3 years and look at who went at over 40 and say what a bargin

I'll be a bit sad to see the big fella go. I admire anyone who has as much of a go as he does despite some obvious flaws in talent.

Sydney will get great service from him and he'll fit right in. Good luck to him.

Could Varcoe have a Ricky Dyson tumble down the order?

I sincerely doubt it.

Unlike Dyson, Varcoe is/has been rated top 10 material (some will tell you top 5) both before and after his injury.

Unless his injury is worst than expected, in which case I then wouldn't be confident of picking him up, I wouldn't expect him to fall into our lap.

Very sad to see him go. I rate him very highly and he gives his all everytime he plays the game.

I think we could have done better than pick 35 for Sarge but the club knows what they are doing.

I just hope the swans don't draft Jeff White now so Sarge gets a full pre-season and 20 games in next season. He deserves it, plus Kingy and Otto will dominate him when we play.

GO CATS!

Slightly dissapointed to see him go, althought for Sarge, it's the best move possible I think.
From a GFC point of view, it's an interesting move. I think we did well to get pick 35 for Sarge, but aren't we now banking on Ottens & King both being fit all year? Or is Mark Blake going to step up? Surely he needs another year or two.
I know Chambers would have played half the year in the VFL in '06, but I think while it's a fair trade, the Cats lose in this one.

I am very surprised about all of this. not saying its a bad move but I am surprised.

you must be shattered, as if Everittt is traded you can guarantee pathetic Campbell will play 22 games for hawthorn next year and he wont play his biggest rival Chambers now what a disappointment.

Ah yes, the proof that SOME white men CAN jump - but only if they have a single digit IQ.
