I really can't stand Ian Healy. His voice and his stupid comments, it really grinds my gears.

)Anyway, I watched a session on mute and listened to the ABC commentary. While the 5 seond lag isn't ideal, for the first time ever though, the lag didn't bother me enough to turn it off and listen to 9, they seriously are going s***house.

Any random person watching cricket that doesn't know who Mike Hussey is wouldn't even know that David Hussey exists. What are you suggesting, that there are people in Victoria following David Hussey's career in the domestic competition, but these same people don't know he has a brother in the national team? I find that very unlikely.

Is the lack of guest commentators more to do with some overseas TV networks bringing their own commentary teams or have o/s commentators told channel 9 their not interested?

Because it criticises the ABC?
That's the only reason I can think of, because it wasn't that difficult to read.
next summer might be their last summer of showing cricket. their contract is up at the end of next season

9 have the infrastructure from having it for years, they just need to drop a large part of this 'new breed' and have a proper scout so that by the next Ashes series, we'll have a decent commentary team.

Did agree with the author's point about 2 commentators at a time, as opposed to 3. Sometimes, less is more.
Probably because Ch 9 they have so many commentators and hangers-on now that there's no room for anyone else.

commentator 3: bla bla BLAB LA BLA
commentator 2: bla bla
would have been far less awkward reading instead of laying it out like a children's book.
