Where did you get this statistic, I can only find 10% here:

Also, percentage of indigenous Australians is around 3.2%. Realistically if we have have on average 2%(1 Player) to 10%(4 players) I think it's impossible to argue a bias.
Futher we are taking a very small sample size, if for example, we draft 3 indigenous players this year we will immediately jump to 10%. I also wouldn't want us to draft off race to meet an imagenary quota to appear 'politcally correct'. Better to treat one indigenous player correctly, than to treat numerous badly (looking at you Hawthorn).
To answer your question, my evidentially bad memory.

I’d never argue that Sydney should recruit a player just because they are indigenous.

I would though encourage Sydney to reflect on whether there is any unconscious bias or systemic factors that may be contributing to it having 4x fewer AFL players than average across the league (as well as considering the extent to which this can be put down to natural variation in small sample sizes).

I don’t think this means Sydney have done anything wrong or outwardly racist (in fact, I highly doubt this) but it may mean there are opportunities for Sydney to do better, and I would be shocked if the Sydney Board and Executives haven’t reflected on these questions.

We didn’t become the club we are today by resting on our laurels.

I do agree that we shouldn't rest on our laurels, just saying that it's statistically insignificant at this point.

Paywalled article about Lachie Cabor;

The Shellharbour talent, 17, has been accepted into the 2023 NAB AFL Academy, .....
It is the second straight year that the Shellharbour Swans junior - who is also a Sydney Swans Academy member - has been accepted into the program, strengthening Cabor's chances of getting picked up by an AFL club in late 2023.

The academy selection caps a roller-coaster 2022 for Cabor. The talented midfielder spent 12 months on the sidelines after suffering a syndesmosis injury, however, highlights included running onto the MCG for the NAB Futures match, which was a curtain-raiser to the AFL Grand Final.
As part of the academy program's criteria, Cabor also got the chance to meet and train with the Sydney Swans AFL squad earlier this year.

"It was just great to see the different standard they have for their training levels. The standards they hold for themselves at training, and then the way they go about their meetings, opened my eyes about what level you need to be the best of the best, playing in the AFL," the teenager said.

I wasn't aware he missed 12 months through injury.

Rookieme lists his height at 181cm and Caiden Cleary's (our other 2023 AFL Academy member) at 180cm, so they (unsurprisingly) seem to have put on a few cms this year (I think).
Few more wouldn't hurt lads.

Hopefully it will be enjoyable watching he and Cleary's progress next season.
Onwards and upwards. :)

Well they are both already a draftable height but I agree that it would be great if they could both get to over 185cm which is reasonably possible as most boys have a few centimetres of growth between 17 and 18.

We have made an enemy in GWS and Adelaide yesterday. We can expect they will bid on our two academy kids if they can.

Both had done the dirty on us in the past. I ain't worried. It was amusing we used the Hawks pick 27 to pick up Vickery who was in their Academy. IIRC the Dawks bid on Campbell.

I don’t think it’s that crazy to try project if it’s a top 10 top 20 range? We knew Mills and Heeney were going to be top 10.

Way too early but rough guess would be Cleary could go as early as 15-20 and Cabor has a range of 25-40. They're both looking draftable that's for sure

.... but we said the same this time last year and both those guys have vanished without a trace

Think KB said in an interview that Clearly was in the 30s and Cabor could get drafted / rookie range - has work to do.

I like the idea of Clearly in the 30s

Cause that way we don’t waste F1 pick or the early Second from Hawks - that’s likely to be in the 20 - 25 range and this draft is suppose to be deep.

I hate the idea that we have to use early picks on talent we spend millions from our own pocket building.

There is only 1 KB !

Also MVP for swans u16 team

Joel Cochran (UNSW-East Sydney Bulldogs/Swans Academy)
28/03/2006 | 194cm | 85kg | Key Forward

Listed as the Swans Academy’s tallest player, Cochran made his presence felt across the three games and was among his side’s best in each. Though key position size, the 16-year-old impressed with his follow-up work and ability to impact at ground level, contributing useful play at the fall of the ball in a few terrific showings of repeat effort. The Swans finished fifth of six teams in Division 2 and even in their biggest loss, Cochran hit the scoreboard.
Is he draft eligible 2023 or 2024 ? I thought 2024
