Its just about an impossible award to accurately predict in the preseason these days, I wonder how many could have predicated Lewis Taylor would win, this time last year.

I think so, but for players like him, you can name your own price, don't think he is listed on any of the markets.

At this point in time, second or third year players who are still eligible tend to be the front runners ..

I am okay having 2nd year players eligible but 3rd year nominees defeats the purpose of this concept somewhat..

It really depends on what the award is supposed to be.

I actually don't like the age restriction on it. If you are drafted as a mature ager and have sufficient impact in your first 20 or so games, I think you should be eligible to win it.

Otherwise, well it becomes a "best in an age group" award which frankly is a bit meh...

At a distance it doesn't seem to be a great pick for captain but they'd know better than us.

Haven't seen much of Rockcliff's demeanour that I've particularly liked but I guess he's either their man or just simply the best they currently have available.
