No...really?

DVB asked whether adding another premiership medal on Saturday afternoon would elevate Mitchell to another level of greatness as a footballer. The answer, quite clearly, is no.

Shiels was used as an example of a good honest footballer who will eventually retire with multiple premiership medals, with that doing nothing to elevate his individual standing in the game.

Not disputing that. Has been (and continues to be) an outstanding footballer.

Of course, but that is not the point. Buckley was a significantly better footballer than Mitchell and that won't change regardless of how many premiership sides Mitchell is a part of.

ah... pesky logic and considered thought nailing spurious comparisons and arguments to the wall.

Thankyou Jeremias

Comedy gold !!

BRISBANE could receive as little as a third-round compensation pick for Matthew Leuenberger should he leave the Lions, according to the ruckman’s manager Paul Connors.

The Lions’ reimbursement would be determined by the AFL’s ‘formula’, basing the pick around his age and terms of his new deal, if they lost the restricted free agent to another club.

Speculation within the football industry in August suggested that Brisbane could snare a first-round compensation pick for losing Leuenberger. After finishing second-last on the ladder, that would be pick three.

However, Connors hinted that Leuenberger’s new contract wouldn’t command a first-round, or even a second-round pick.

Was going to bring this up on the main board.............but I can't be bothered administering it.

We're going to hear so many big calls over the next couple of weeks.......I mean they've started already.
The, 'Take it to the bank' call...........The, 'Player x WILL be at club x next year'............The, 'I'm hearing that the deal is done between a and b for x' etc

Would be good should every time we here one of these definitive calls come up, for them to be listed and keep a running sheet for the wins and the fails.

No doubt Robbo, Barrett or Stevo would clean up in the fails stakes but may be fun just the same to see them all tabled out :)
