I gave up in 07 when they were always saying how old we are and had no body to replace Ricciuto, McLeod, Edwards, Goodwin. Or we had nobody to help out Hudson. Or Welsh wasnt good enough of a forward to be the #1 (well this one may be true). Or Bock is a hack and is not good enough to be a back, and should stop experimenting.
It was always annoying that when we didnt play Essendon or Collingwood we would always end up as the last game mentioned (unless Neil Craig was on the show), and in that 30seconds at the end of the show it would always be that the other team lost it or how crap we were and are not a finals contender.
Healy, Sheehan and Walls were always pains on that show.
Bring Back FOX FOOTY CHANNEL. It was the best. But leave Healy, Sheehan and Walls out of it. Well maybe bring Sheehan onto AFL teams on Thursday nights, with Barnsey, they were brilliant on that show.
But for On the Coach. Get some people who are not going to talk up how Richmond are great, how Carlton are great, But Hawthorn and Geelong are clearly the best sides. It gets boring, and leaving the non-vic teams out untill when your bored is always annoying. Down with Sheehan. Down with Walls and down with Healy

FFS what does it take to impress that clown?
We beat a side that is widely predicted to finish top 4. We did it on the road with 3 debutants, another 2 players playing their 3rd game of football and some bloke named Trent coming back after 30 odd months since his last AFL game. We were also missing our best mid and one of the best small defenders in the comp.
I remember him predicting us to finish 16th in 2002 (the year we made the PF and Edwards got sniped), so he has a long history of not rating us.
But hey I suppose Carlton beating a limp Richmond is more impressive

I only watch it when the crows win AND the guest is half decent (I find out from teh ads)
considering today was Malthouse, I aint going to watch it, I knew it would be complaining about the umps and Collingwood would of won it.
The last time I watched it was before last years Brownlow medal with Neil Craig as the guest. But it still got annoying with Sheehan saying that we have nobody who could push for selection. Neil gasped for a breath thinking (WTF r u on) and then came out with about 5 names saying how good they were. Walker, Dangerfield, Otten, Petrenko were 4 of them, I think the other was Armstrong.
the 07 season was the worst. AFL teams sucked when Sheehan and Barnsey and Dunstall left. (who was the other)(there arguments were so entertaining. I couldnt care about the teams, the fighting of Sheehan and Barnsey was what made me like it). The current group of hacks are boring. but this show (On the Coach) needs new people. Maybe the West Australian chief sports writer hosting it, with Rucci and the ages chief sports writer argueing. Then each team bar Sydney and Brisbane has somebody who knows something about the teams.

good theory.. but kim hagdorn/mark duffield (the two head football writers in west australian papers) have no clue either.. they had our best 22, and had no vince in it.. with moran in the side as back pocket.. they also said we'd finish 14th.. hagdorn, duffield and sheehan should have coffee together.. they'd all get along

I did. The only time we were mentioned was a 20 second bit about how teams like to give the ball to their best disposers on the half back line, where McLeod was the prime example of about 6 guys.
That was maybe 15 minutes into the hour show, not mentioned again.
We actually got more of a mention on Footy Classified, Gary Lyon talked up the Crows, how well they played, and mentioned that "the Crows always seemed to have a sameness in recent seasons about them because of the excellent senior players they have - who were fantastic on the weekend - but are really bringing through a well balanced selection of kids", emphasising it in a way that suggested our rebuild had snuck up on everyone in Melbourne. He, Hutchy and Thomas also talked up Petrenko, Walker, and Dangerfield especially.
Gee, I wonder who we would have to beat to be considered impressive? Geelong or Hawthorn I guess.
On Healy, I've noticed for a few years now that he is the exception to the rule - he seems to know the Adelaide list and while he doesn't rate it super highly, he seems to know which youngsters have got "it" and which don't. I really enjoy that he's regularly a TV commentator for Crows matches because he's often the only one with half a clue.

Healy has always rated the crows and argues with logic and intelligence against Sheehan. They let Mike have most of the say, but what Hird and Healy said was intelligent and proved that they actually paid attention to the game and to our players and coach.
Malthouse was very good. I quite enjoyed listening to him and when the subject of umpires was raised that that Collingwood "lost" the game, he countered that Adelaide could, in all likelihood, find umpiring decisions that they thought should have gone their way too. That it wasn't the umpiring decisions and he gave credit to Adelaide for winning the game. It was a tight, hard contest and Adelaide worked harder and deserved the win.
For those people that didn't watch it and jumping at shadows, how about actually watching something and making up your own mind and not listening to your own prejudices, otherwise maybe you should change your name to Mike Sheehan?

Doesn't surprise me to hear that Hird watched the game, since he certainly didn't spend much time commenting on it

his point about the forward line was perhaps fair. we had nothing across CHF, and relied on streaming out of the centre, right down the corridor onto the full forward line.

I don't think people expect it but it doesn't mean they shouldn't talk about teams that aren't based in Victoria for more than 20 seconds. They weren't any better on One Week At A Time either where they glossed over the Crows v Pies match by saying "Collingwood needed to tag McLeod earlier and they would've won". It's frustrating for a national competition that shows like this never have a balance of what they talk about.
Good to hear on Classified they had some actual knowledge about our list.

He is one of the least informed journos going around and has his 2 inch **** so far up Judd and Buddys ass (can't be that far with the forementioned tools but you get my point) that he fails to see anything else in the AFL. He, like other rubbish journos, bases his opinions from others believes. Same goes for Swardtz, Walls, Wilson, etc etc.

We have been widely commended for taking on Hawthorns rolling zone game plan and also for doing it well on Saturday. Then in the next breath Mike says that we are boring and are shocking to watch compared to Hawthorn and Geelong. WE ARE PLAYING THE SAME STYLE FFS!!! I doubt he watched the game, actually.
He has lost the plot and is still living in the 80s as far as his football knowledge. He is like those moronic supoorters who say 'kick it long, kick it, KICK IT!!!!'
