Like the "is Geelong-Richmond the new Geelong-Hawthorn" thread. I said no because most Geelong fans don't care about the Tigers, especially not like we do Hawthorn. Also how whilst losing in 17, 19 and 20 sucked, to me they're just like all the other years besides 2008, where we've lost in the finals. They're just games that don't bother me anymore and don't bother me like 2008.

But nope, I'm wrong and Richmond is in our heads and all we care about are the Tigers.

Honestly, I don't give a shit about Richmond

Yes I want to win when we play against them, but I want to win every match regardless of opponent

When we play against Hawthorn though it's just a totally different feeling, then the atmosphere at the ground and neither team wants to concede anything to they other...

Even with that being said, I've still found myself at matches against the Hawks, where after the final siren I've been able to turn around & have conversations with opposition fans that are nothing but civil - congratulations for the winning supporters, commiserations to those on the wrong end of the result

That was particularly true with the Hawkins after the siren goal - fans of both teams riding the emotions all game, but we also understood that the emotions don't then need to spill into the crowd & after the siren

Can't say it's always like that though after matches & there's games where you just don't want to make eye contact with an opposition supporter

PhatBoy

Can i just say i ******* love how you school opposition posters on the mainboard especially some from a certain club

Lol thank you mate.

I go overboard I know that and probably don’t have enough of a ‘really who cares’ skill set to just ignore them but my pet hate discussing sport of any sort, is people who just make a black and white claim that is completely contradicted by fact and yeah I get a bit of pleasure from bringing that to attention.

I just get aggravated when opposition supporters tell me I should be grateful I get to see the cats play 9 games in Geelong. There’s one in particular who keeps saying all cats games will be at Marvel by 2030. Thats some headscratching stuff.

I would have less issues with MCG finals if our home finals were always on Saturdays. I know plenty of mad cats fans who just can’t get to the G on a Thursday or Friday. AFL cares more about not locking out big 4 clubs then our supporters.

The other argument I find funny is when they say “but don’t you know that a KP final would be split 50/50”. Yea duh 🙄. A 50/50 KP final is 100x better than a 30/70 MCG final with the crowd stacked against us. Couldn’t give a shit about the MCC/AFL reserve neutrals locked out, nor the pies/richmond/dees fans whose club didn’t earn them a hole final. Reality is, most will sook, not come down, and we’ll have a 70/30 crowd split in our favour.

Even though I will never be able to go to a game, this is one the most grating things I've seen about the AFL's scheduling. First they make to game happen at the MCG, ok fine. But then put it at a time that makes it so very difficult for a home team fan and family to actually travel to the city to watch it. It's a double whammy of disregard or disrespect to the GFC's members.
And the 'it's for TV ratings' crap. They could very well have the game at KP with a max crowd that would have just as good an atmosphere.

Not so sure about Melbourne belting Collingwood, especially based on recent matches between the two

Interesting. I didn’t know they’ve been so dominant over them.

I just can’t rate Collingwood. They should have literally lost the Carlton, Port and Essendon games. All those games the opposition squandered chances to ice it in the dying minutes. Not to mention the North Melbourne choke.
And all the close wins have been against poor opposition.

History says that a team winning like that will be found out.

Melbourne are warming up. I could be wrong but I think it will get very ugly for Collingwood.

Here's the latest instalment from the Comedy Board:

"scats will loose to the aints on puprose this week

nothing surer

their fans are making tweets about it to keep us out of the 8
"

Like Cats fans have a direct line to Chris Scott, and the players. "Chris its the BF Cats Board here. Many poster want you to drop this game to keep Richmond out of the 8. See what you can do..."

Pies, so just as bad ;)
the Pies winning streak has brought out some weirdos. There are a number of perfectly normal Pies posters who've been around forever that still seem normal but the odd ones have definitely come out of the woodwork over the past 3 or 4 weeks

Lol- brilliant. Crikey they are gone in the head.

The Bulldogs have posted this to Twitter - firstly, can anyone explain how Macrae, Bontempelli & Tom Libaratore qualify for a "Retro Dream Team", when surely they're "modern" players not "retro" players?

But this response is great:

How is Barry Hall "pure Bulldog" when he played for two teams prior to landing at Whitten Oval? Nevermind Lake & Brown both moving on to play for new teams

Edit - seems they didn't like being called out:
Hall the only player on that field not drafted by the dogs, and the only one who didnt have their majority of the career at the club. However he was the best key forward named for selection for this so easy choice, unlike akermanis. Go off though champ

Surprised to see Hall there. He played 39 games for them, less than 2 seasons worth.

Lake at least played nearly 200 games for them.

Wonder if there was a certain year cutoff for it, like the 90s and later. You'd think Collins, Templeton or Beasley would be more deserving than Hall. As all won Colemans, Templeton won back-to-back AND a Brownlow medal.

Ok, just had a look and it's players from the last 25 years. Makes the criteria a bit harder for Doggies players then.
