Weekly instalment from the Comedy Board:

"Pathetic. No wonder the club culture of being sooks is what it is today."

A Tiger supporter has dredged up an article from 2004 - Yes, 2004 - in which the late, great Polly Farmer bemoaned the fact two Geelong goals in the last quarter of the 1967 GF were disallowed in dubious circumstances.

The mind boggles - how long did it take to poster to dredge up this 17 year old report? And isn't it a case of the pot calling the kettle black? After all, aren't Richmond supporters the ones obsessing over the Steve Hocking rules changes conspiracy?

this is an example of why there needs to be a face-palm or [smh] emoji

I think opposition trolls are a bit put out nobody here started a Joel 350 thread on the M/B. They're pissed they didn't have to chance to flog their bishop trashing him, and they're too ashamed to start their own to do it. :laughv1:
TBH I thought it was a classy move by anyone who consciously held off starting a thread. :thumbsu:

I was so tempted but just knew the thread would be derailed big time. We know how much Joel means to the Club and don't need affirmation from others

Talking points from 1967? How are we in their heads this firmly?

The main board is full of mouth breathers. It's actually a lot worse than Bay 13.

It's like they've not realised that footy has moved on from them

It was a quick drop for them.

3 flags in 4 years, including back-to-back and then the next season they finish 12th and miss finals and are now currently 9th and are every chance to miss finals in back-to-back seasons.

Didn't even occur to me. But why would it. He has nothing to prove

They're definitely on a bit of an edge. Make finals this year, restructure and attract a few big names and they're relevant. Miss and not attract attract a Taranto or similar and who knows where they go

Another 30 plus years of no finals and more laughs would be my guess

One of them just said this;

Holy cow, are they still going on about this? Wow that’s actually really really sad.

Yep, Polly Farmer, who passed in 2019 is STILL going on about this.

Would be lucky to hit double-figure IQ if you combined everyone in the thread.

I’m 100% sure if I went on another board and told the winning side celebrating a good win and their captain’s 350th that they need to remeber all the previous “final chokes” I would be perma banned dazbroncos
Just revel in our superiority. We don’t need to permaban because we aren’t delicate flowers like the poor widdle Tigers.

It's genuinely getting concerning. They want to be what Hawthorn was so badly and they just can't get us to reciprocate the energy.

It's been said before perfectly, nobody at Geelong cares about Richmond.

I don't really dislike any side that much as I try to appreciate football outside of the bitterness that is displayed between opposition fans, but like most Geelong supporters if there was to be one it would be Hawthorn.

Richmond doesn't even register. 35 years of irrelevance will do that to you.

I was at the 1969 final ffs. Don't remind me.

I've literally never seen anyone from this board, or Geelong fans in general, give 2 shits about the tigers, outside in response to them?
I don't get how they believe we really care.
It's because we show them the same level of respect the entire footy world shows towards Cotchins "Brownlow"

So they are just massively triggered and insecure

The difference between Hawthorn and Richmond, at least IMO, is that deep down there is some begrudging respect between the two sides, and that you can have a somewhat civilised conversation with their fans. That's an impossibility with Richmond supporters.

I can still remember Richmond fans on the main board claiming the 2017 Richmond side was better than the 2007 Geelong side - their reasoning being they won every final by 5+ goals while Geelong only snuck past the Pies in the Prelim, conveniently ignoring the two 100+ point wins either side of that game.

2017 and 2019 were very soft GF wins.

Have Tiggies who got very upset over the media fawning over Joel over the weekend forgotten how over the top the media went the weekend Martin returned? I remember halftime of EVERY match was a package about Dusty returning.

The media are starting to push the Richmond bandwagon with their fawning over Richmond's prospects in the finals.

Hard to see Richmond losing their last 3. Maybe we need to give the Saints a helping hand this weekend 😈

Wouldn't that mess with their heads 😂
