It's you're, not 'your.'

That was his first mistake.

The only time I can think of Hawkins doing something even remotely similar was in a game against Collingwood when he jumped for a mark and a Pies player (Toovey?) was running back with the flight and copped a knee to the head. No malice in it at all, and was definitely not deliberate.
Good call back, I couldn't even think of a specific incident.

At least sticking a knee out can help you maintain balance, karate kicks will only unbalance you further.

Does it count as a rivalry? I don't think most of us care enough about their team for it to be a rivalry.
I agree. I think the Crows see it as one or maybe the fact they struggle to beat us is the underlying cause?

I honestly don't get the hate many seem to have developed for us. It's certainly not reciprocated.

It's Adelaide... Do you remember the fan I told you about at the Crows game at KP?
They are feral.

These gems were in the last 5 pages of the game-day thread on the main board.

Most likely not. How many times as Hawkins kicked 4 goals this season?
Selwood has been on the down and Guthrie played far better than Selwood most likely would have.

Not worried at all.

Geelong are a team of grandpas who know Simmonds better than anyone as it's a stadium them play on exclusively.

Calls for us playing "a VFL team" just shows how delusional Geelong supporters are. You had 3/4 players out of your best 22 - 2 through suspension. Big whoop.

Safe to say they are taking the loss a little hard the Tigers:

In some ways, this is the problem about always complaining about the umpiring... it distorts situations like today and lessens the impact of what we're saying.

The fact is, there have been some games this year where the umpiring has hurt us late in games, and gone against us... however in those games, we've also had our opportunities to win and make the umpiring a non-factor, but we failed to hit set shots, or whatever it might be.

Today? Today was, from START TO FINISH, an umpiring con job, and even the most one-eyed Cats fans would have trouble arguing that point.

It is for this reason that I'm not actually worried or angry at our team, because whilst they didn't have an amazing day, they simply never stood a chance with such corrupt and biased officiating of the game as that.

We all know Hardwick's soft position on the umpires, so when even HE is pissed off PUBLICLY about it, you know something was up.

Chris Scott is also a gutless coward for trying to take any credit for that win, any coach worth a damn would have put a massive asterix on a win like that.

Geelong are pretenders, and whilst we may also be, they have proven nothing today except that they can EEEK out a 14 point win with assistance from 3 extra people on the field.

Adelaide supporter/Geelong-obsessed hater, mick5000 currently on the rumours board, using the idea that Menzel might go to Adelaide as a springoard to attack Dangerfield for leaving Adelaide, invoking Phil Walsh's death in the process. The depths some people on these forums will go to stagger me, sometimes.

Fruit cake ......

Oh yes. In fact, I remember a ginger haired little scrote who wore number 19 for Geelong who managed to ignite most Hawthorn's fans hatred for Geelong. It certainly ignited mine. Along with Yeates, Hocking, Blight and a few others who attempted to biff their way to an unlikely premiership.

So how I laughed when Geelong took so much joy out of the Kennett Curse. Not one of those games finished Hawthorn's season. But the bookends either side did, and how we laughed again.

I admired the 2007-2011 Geelong teams. Some of the greatest ever seen. And dare I say it - their best was probably better than our Threepeat best. But Geelong's current iteration is around about where Geelong sides have historically sat - threatening without actually achieving.

So, whilst you will hover around 2-6, make the odd prelim and generally live up to your historical status as 'nearly men", we'll quietly rebuild, take a deep breath and return to our natural habitat - winning premierships. As much as you don't want to believe it, there's more chance of seeing those excremental colours holding up a premiership cup in the next five years than probably 12-15 clubs in the AFL. And those excremental colours appeal to over 75000 people. That's a good 20000+ than those that prefer blue and white hoops. Maybe that's to do with success. Lots of it.

I'm still shitty at the Crows for pinching Bruce Lindner. Impeach our President, will you? We're evens, f*ckos.

Oh come on, once Bruce shirked that bump in the '89 GF his papers were stamped by Blighty. I remember he played maybe in '92 at the Cattery and honestly don't remember a boo anywhere. It was like thank god you went West.

Its because basically every team has struggled to beat us over the last ten years. Watching that Adelaide game you could even tell the players were sick of losing to us all the time. They seemed very keen to puff out their chests and be all faux-tough.

Gee, Adelaide supporters are dense - question raised in a football supporters group on Facebook: "Has there been a time in history that it's been two non Melbourne teams in the grand final?" I responded with "Geelong vs Port Adelaide". Adelaide supporter replies with "When did Geelong move out of Victoria?"
