Would be bitterly disappointed losing Bootsma. I don't understand the logic of such a trade.

Think Zac Dawson but a lot worse.. has scope to improve, but has not shown much at AFL level so far. Jury still out as to if he is going to make it as an AFL player.

Jesse Hogan a 17yo not eligible to play AFL kicked 6 goals on Bootsma in the VFL.. That is all you need to know.
Why isn't Docherty a blue yet?
Just give them #28 if it's that much of an issue, screw the one spot in the draft, it doesn't matter beyond pick 20 or so anyway

Bootsma was also moved onto Liam Jones during the Bulldogs game after he'd kicked two and kept him goalless, then played on Jones in the VFL a few weeks later and had 4 goals kicked on him in the first quarter.

Hearing that Bootsma and Yarran get found out being dragged to the last line of defense got me thinking.
Maybe we should recruit a team of players who are all dragged to the last line. This would leave us with first use out of the centre and an incredibly open forward line....

For mine, Bootsma is expendable if he wants to return to WA and we can get value for him.

Yeah it would seem/read that way, if indeed the club has not told him he was being shopped around, I would be pretty pissed too.
Or we just get Nick Smith. That guy lives for the last line of defense.
I don't think its Boots' twitter account...Zee is our resident Twitter stalker and thought it was bogus.
His manager would seem to not be blameless in this as well. He reportedly met with the club this morning & has subsequently told the AFL website Boots could be traded to the Eagles (or otherwise stay at Carlton). This indicates 2 possible scenarios in my mind; the club has expressed interest in an Eagles player/draft pick & offered up Boots as a trade, or Boots' manager/the club has fielded interest from the Eagles. Will we ever know the truth? Probably not, regardless of whether Boots is traded or not.
