The name Mellington has been thrown around a lot, as a medium forward - however he is probably a little too short for third tall at 185cms (Darling and Gunston are both 190+). Dont know much about him, or if he is any good.

I would like us to make a move for Mellington, I have watched him for West Perth the last couple of seasons and he has been good. He gets plenty of shots on goal for a medium sized forward and if he doesn't cost much then we should go for it.

I guess that elusive medium forward doesn't have to be that magic 190cm mark, as long as they can play tall ala Jimmy bartel or Ryan Okeefe or our very own Walker (although he is 190cm)

I think i'll be happy with any player we pick at 13 as long as they have an outstanding attribute for example Marsh and Freemans speed or couches inside game.
I can live with deficiency's as long as they have a stand out quality.

They aren't comparable as they play in a completely different position to Everitt.

Anrejs is a running defender who at 24 years of age has just had his break out year at senior level. After never having played more than 12 games in one season, in his 7th season at AFL level he played 20 games and cemented his spot in a top 4 side.

He's a solid footballer who has the build to play as a 3rd defender but is far better suited to a running role. Very mobile and has terrific pace for a player of that size.

Andrejs is rumoured to be looking for a new club and we could do worse. However I would only bother bringing him across if we're moving on Bootsma. Almost identical in the role that they play and if it were a choice of the two I'd certainly rather persist with the latter than invest in the former.

Nothing official from Scotland or the club as yet, but yes a number of media sources yesterday went with the story that Scotland has decided to play on for one more season in 2014.

Sorry Jeremias, but isn't this a bit contradictory to your assessment of White?

White cemented his spot at senior level but you put that down to "cementing his spot because no one else was available", but when Everitt cements his spot it's genuine?

He's a bit of a utility and can play forward or back, I remember him being subbed on for Goodes vs Geelong last year and kicking the winning goal from 50 out close to the boundary. Good game actually.

We have Henderson and Waite who we know can play well forward. Personally I think it's easier to have a good defender than a good forward. It would be easier to trade for a KPD and draft a KPF and develop them (you can say these things outside of TC).

Still think we should be right into Josh Bruce, he and Watson would give us a handy pair of young KPD and we can draft a Hourigan, McStay, Harvey etc

Can he play though? I don't really understand the fascination with getting talls. Currently we are a bit short but firstly we need to get guys that can play and if they are tall then great. I don't know if Bruce can play or not but there is a lot of talk on this forum about talls that cant play.
