That's my point. If you listen to all the media reports there are 6 or 7 names that are apparently in the 'final 4' as they all are reporting different names in there. They are all just guessing at this point.
Surely we are beyond a final 4 now anyway. We’d have to be down to 2 or negotiating with one if we are announcing next week

Now that we are getting closer to the imminent Nicks appointment, I’ll shed some light on why it has taken so long...

BURTON.

From what I know it was a case of ‘I don’t want the gig if Burton is still there’. And of course, a simultaneous review added to the delay in the process. In that time, other interviews were conducted. But I think it was going to be very hard to displace Nicks.

Only other outcome is that in recent days, another candidate has blown them away. My source says otherwise.

I won’t be saying any more than this.

I'd imagine that if anyone of the candidates spoke with Pyke they'd want Burton removed.

So surely, this means Burton is gone?
Or is Nicks the only coach that was willing to work with him?

Dillon says coaching announcement Monday or Tuesday, then a few days later the review.

Which is a stupid way to go about it.

Get the review out of the way, clear air and then coach announcement signals moving forward, but this is the Crows.

He’s also hinted Burton is gone which is harsh as no hanging offence, what a ****head.

Hinted Campo also gone

He wasn’t the only one to voice concerns. I can’t see how Burton survives.
If they've spoken to anyone around the club not named Roo or Chappy then they wouldn't have gotten a good insight on Burton.

Kymbo is one of the bigger apologists going around.

GWS think Nicks has it

That article by Tom Morris saying that this is the case is one of the worst articles I’ve read this week in AFL media, and that’s saying something.

It’s a typical Morris article, he states it as fact then mentions it’s because Wayne Campbell ‘could’ be interviewing people for roles in the GWS footy department but he might not be as he is not certain to be at GWS in 2020 either

Also Tom Browne and Tom Morris should be banned from using the phrase “almost certain”, they use it as a throw away line to try to protect themselves while also trying to enforce validity into their guesswork

Was just about to post this.

So what did he do in between retiring and coming to Port ?? His record at Port wasn't great.
Not to mention even if he did help GWS to get to the GF considering their talent it's not that great of achievement.

If it is Nick's I find it very hard to be satisfied about it unless we have some good assistants around him.

It'd be utterly baffling to conduct a coach search where the one qualification needed is "will they work with Brett Burton"

The guys reputation must be utter trash in the coaching circles.

I think we have to refrain from using the great man Phil Walsh as a measuring stick to head coaches. He was going to be an out and out star coach. He had something special about him. We aren’t going to find a coach that inspires the supporter base like he did. But we can trust the process and understand that Nicks has his own traits that make him a worthy AFC head coach. The club would have gathered mountains of data, which would have included many player testimonials. And we need a bloke that can galvanise the wounded blokes on our list. Add some new assistants to the mix and it’s happy days.
