Didnt he used to catch the Tram to games at the G?
I seem to recall that being spoken about on one if the TV shows back then.

If he is the coach, Marshall better get the tram extensions sorted.

After he gets Port's next major sponsor signed up.....

Maybe that's why announcement taking so long, finalising infrastructure

I'm not taking anyone as gospel.

Yze was here on Friday and said it was for the coaching job. Do you think that was his first or second interview?

Either way, its take an awfully long time to get around for his first interview, or if its his second, why is Roo still saying a week away?

An answer thats not a cliche would be interesting.
Once the club has there preferred candidate there is still a negotiation that needs to be completed in terms of $$$, contract term, relocation, support staff etc

Haha, Roo said yesterday it was still a week & half away from an announcement.

I honestly feel they are buying time, Id suggest this is do to with some of the review finding's and contractual constraints.

The media is pressing for a damaging story, care is being undertaken from the AFC

We may have gone for head of football first prior to the head coach, with head of football giving a shortlist for coaches he wants.

Still a bit baffling why we wouldn't announce it separately but it might be to save Burton being tarred by us seeing Roo is mates and all that.

Not sure this has been posted but this is from HeraldSun:

Despite reports to the contrary, Hawthorn assistant coach Adem Yze remains very much in the race for Adelaide’s new coach.
Yze is expected to have a second meeting with the Crows on Wednesday night after impressing when first interviewed last Friday.
On the weekend Hawthorn announced that Yze will be its forwards coach in 2020, plus head of match day strategy and opposition, but there is a “get-out” clause included should he win a senior AFL coaching role.
Yze, 42, has been with Hawthorn since 2012 in assistant roles after a 271-game career with Melbourne from 1995-2008 which included the Keith “Bluey” Truscott medal for best and fairest in 2001, and selection in the 2002 All-Australian team.
He recently signed a new deal and will stay with Hawthorn which runs until the end of 2022.
“Adem is a highly respected assistant coach and has performed well in any portfolio he’s been assigned,” Hawks football manager Graham Wright said.
“He’ll return to coach the forwards next year but will maintain a focus on team strategy that he performed so well in in 2019.”

So if this is the case why did Hawthorn announce he was locked in for assistant coach before knowing if he got the job as a senior coach in Adelaide?

Was it during the Phil Walsh process they had the applicants coach part of a replayed real game? Remember something about them mock coaching one of our disaster games that season to see what they would have done differently.

If doing scenarios like that again it would add time to the entire process.

To take him off the market as an assistant coach. We're in that market too.

I think that's pretty standard these days.

Wonder if Yze brought Ootib C off the bench for a run in the midfield?

Probably so they could get their assistants in place. If one gets a head job they release them.

I’m as curious as any, but are more than happy to wait this out as the club needs to nail this in its entirety. Pretty obvious IMO that once all coaches etc are locked in all information will come out together as one big media release. As long as they nail the coaches and remove those who need to go, I have absolutely no issue with that. Will happen with in the week Roo was pretty clear on that this morning, buckle up.

Remember that as well. Walsh impressed by doing it in real time, and I also recall Brendon Bolton spitting the dummy because he felt that before he even interviewed the panel had already decided to go with Phil.

Of course it would be. They are not going to come out and slam any of them which would virtually end their careers. They have to find a way they can let them go, thank them for their services and just walk away. They will report the main findings of the review and then advise in line with this, these are the changes we are undertaking.... and announce the new team. They will want to do this as dignified as they can even though we know the media (and some in here) are after a carcass to rip to shreds.

I thought it was that they asked the coaches to watch a replay and come back with notes about how they would've handled it different, but Phil just said how bout I show you and did a real time analysis.

And despite what some people would like, it is responsible of the club to take this approach.

We already find it incredibly difficult to attract assistant coaches etc... from anywhere not within the AFC walls, so if we went around ripping people when they left we would never get another employee that wasn't one of the boys club.

We can be as pleasant as we like, as long as the changes are still made.

Ootiib C sounds distantly related to Yze A so...

Jake Nial says Kingsley has pulled out of applying for the senior coaching gig. Yze, Burns, Nicks "plus a couple of others" still in it.
Code for told unsuccessful?
