That's a fairly steep price for Houston - good as he might be - effectively 2 players (both maybe best 22?) and a future first...

Ah the AFL's futures market.....
It is two players in the bottom 10-20% of our 23 (if in it at all) for someone who would arguably be a top 5 player on our list. Significant upgrade, especially given we've already secured a best 22 lock for free in Perryman.

It's like Kane annoys you one day and then finds a way to your heart the next.

It might be how he stays controversial but doesn't get cancelled.

You understand he’s still trying to get Collingwood screwed over there yeah?

If Rioli isn’t worth Pick 6, then how would we get 13 out of GC for Noble?

We kinda need Gold Coast thinking Rioli is worth Pick 6 because then Noble is comfortably worth 13

Kane is just finding a far cleverer way to complain about us getting Houston

Not only those 2 players - also a F1

Rioli is not that much better then Noble, they are statistically very close in fact.

I'd argue Noble cracks in harder, Rioli bit more skilled.

Noble wouldn't be for pick 13, our F1 carries the weight in getting pick 13....

Noble is a starting 18 lock imo.

But given we have already gone all in foe a flag we may as well see it through.
Houston off HB will be an upgrade hence worth it, but club needs to flag over next 2 years before the wheels fall off for its strategy to be a success.
Just making finals is not good enough. IMO.

Cornes is a critic.

Which makes him very reasonable, knowledgeable and entertaining when he’s not talking about our club.

And it makes him a deadset muppet with NFI and the head of a shrivelled cabbage when he is.

The full grab is a lot harsher on Collingwood. He rates Noble around the same level as the Graham compensation and Houston worth much more than Rioli. Both Edmund and Cornes are off either Collingwood because of how we rate Noble or just Noble full stop.

That’s not what they’ve said at all, that’s just a Ralphy fantasy.
The only thing GC have said is that they’ll deal with Collingwood first on 13 because they want Noble.

As for the last sentence? If by perfect sense you mean they like to gamble, then you’re spot on I guess.
Wrong, most reporters, not just Jon Ralph have reported that Carlton would offer their F1 & F2 for GC13.
For someone who preaches to others about football knowledge, you are certainly limited on this topic.

2 KPP's that will take a few years to develop. We want players now. We're in a premiership window.
Personally don't want 18 year olds.
We do but if we have 13 and no Houston, who do we use 13 on. I don't think there's any players of Houston's ability to trade for

We wouldn't have pick 13, if we have no Houston. If Houston was going to say Carlton, that would mean they would have obtained pick 13 from the Suns, to trade for Houston.
The Suns don't even think Noble is worth Pick 23, so l doubt we would be in any play for pick 13 with just Noble. More likely pick 29 would be given for just Noble from the Suns.

But we’re NOT getting pick 13 for Noble, we’re getting pick 13 first our F1. For Noble we’re getting a pick in the 20’s and possibly something in 30’s.

Any way you cut it, Richmond are making out like bandits on the speculated Rioli trade, whilst we’re paying a full price for pick 13.

Not everything is about Collingwood, Kane is right, and GC will already know that Rioli isn’t worth 6. But just as they know with Noble, they’ll need to pay over because they’ve pursued and offered contracts to players with multiple years left on their current deals.

Are we going to be better off with Houston? We've survived without him, we shouldn't over pay just because we think he MIGHT make us better.
No might he will make us better. He is a significant upgrade on Noble. It’s like comparing Maynard and Markov one plays a role and the other is a difference maker.

Nah hes a muppet 100% now. I used to listen to him on SEN a lot and his analysis is quite good when hes not trying to stir shit. The problem is all he wants to do is stir shit now
