That be Hard to doLeppa said they also want to get into the first round of the draft, so imagine thats where pick 23 comes in.
Useless team with no supporters. Fold em when Tassie comes in. Keep it 18 teamsGood and Bloody Suns
That what I thought as possible situationI must admit Leppitsch didn't fill me with much confidence in actually been able to get the Houston deal done.
Sounds like if it gets to complicated and requires too much in picks etc we're willing to pull out.
If we had taken a breath, and valued our picks more highly last year, we may have had Schultz and pick 10 and we wouldn’t be in this situation.
Trade pick 10 for Houston + 23
Then use 13 as a first rounder or split it
Shame Leppa wasn't in charge last year lolIf we had taken a breath, and valued our picks more highly last year, we may have had Schultz and pick 10 and we wouldn’t be in this situation.
Trade pick 10 for Houston + 23
Then use 13 as a first rounder or split it
That's it.Leppa doing the nonchalant method.
Look disinterested and be prepared to walk away. I like it.
Don’t look desperate or too keen.
Should always be willing to pull out, or could end up with a lifetime of regret.I must admit Leppitsch didn't fill me with much confidence in actually been able to get the Houston deal done.
Sounds like if it gets to complicated and requires too much in picks etc we're willing to pull out.
I’m saying stick to your guns Leppa. Wright, Hine & Guy all folded like a pack of cards. How is an unneeded F1 and 2 fringe players, for an elite dual AA being bent over?
Last I heard no interest, but given he’d be a lower priority for potential suitors something might pop up next week.Any news on a Fin destination?
No current season stats available
And if they took overs for pick 13, the Suns then need to pay significant overs to get Noble because he would be a required player at the Pies without Houston.
I hope for everyone’s sake, Noble included everyone is aware of how much actually Gold Coast want Noble
Hope he hasn't packed up his house yet.FWIW, I think of the two: Barass staying looks more likely right now.
That's all fair enough, but how do you factor in GC's desire to get Likocious's salary gone?I think you’re inflating the value/importance of Noble to GC. They could quite easily sell 13 to the highest bidder and just offer us 23 for Noble, which we’d likely cave-in and accept because we really don’t want to keep Noble against his will.
IMO of the three Clubs in this triangle, we are in by far the weakest position because we have the least valuable players/picks, with no outside interest from other clubs for what we have on the table. We’re the needy ones most likely yo have to pay more than we’d like to get what we want.
It might all collapse down to us missing out on Houston and walking away with just a pick in the 20’s for Noble and one in the 30’s for Richards. But hopefully not.

So chances of Getting Houston at the moment is 50/50Collingwood list boss Justin Leppitsch says the soaring value of a first-round pick held by Gold Coast is making it “complicated and messy” for the Magpies to bring across Dan Houston.
Leppitsch said a deal with Port Adelaide and the Suns involving Houston, Jack Lukosius and Magpies defender John Noble was up to its 30th variation, as the Power demanded a higher price than the Pies were currently willing to pay.
In his first off-season as list manager, Leppitsch said the Magpies had to strike a “fine balance” between pursuing Houston and prioritising “the future of the footy club”.
Complicating matters further is that the dual All-Australian halfback is yet to nominate a preferred destination, with Carlton and North Melbourne remaining interested.
“We’re hoping to get it done, but it’s not going to be easy. That’s the difficult part, getting everyone happy on the deal. We’ve got all these players involved, who are all contracted, and can stay at their own homes, so I guess everyone is holding the card where they can keep that particular player,” Leppitsch told AFL Trade Radio on Friday.
“I’m not sure … we’re a little bit different, because Dan hasn’t nominated a club, so it’s not like he’s definitely coming to us, whereas John (Noble) has got a destination he wants to go, and Jack Lukosius knows where he wants to go.
“It is getting complicated, and messy at stages, so there is a lot to work through.”
Leppitsch said the Suns’ no. 13 pick, which Port Adelaide wants as part of a trade for Houston, initially looked like an easy get as part of a trade for Noble, but now has multiple suitors.
“At the start, pick 13 was just going to be an easy part of the deal for Nobes, along with other things of course,” he said.
“But now, given the fact it comes a number of other clubs wanting it, Gold Coast probably realises the value it actually has, it unlocks probably more value than what it actually is. Whoever gets a hold of it can do a lot of things with it. Hence why it’s more than just that pick.”
The Power also reportedly want the Suns’ no. 23 pick as part of a Houston deal even if it includes Collingwood forward Joe Richards, which Leppitsch suggested the Pies were not willing to part with if they secured that pick in the Noble deal.
He said they were mindful of being armed with the picks needed to secure father-son prospect Tom McGuane in 2025, which would be done under the league’s stricter rules coming in next season.
“We’d like to (keep a high draft pick), and that’s probably where the arm wrestle comes in,” Leppitsch said.
“Give up all your draft hand for one player, or go a different tact? That’s where it’s going to come down to for us.
“It’s a very fine balance. We’re respecting that, and we know the value of that, but the future of the footy club is most important.”
Needs to as then put Pressure on PortHoping that Houston changes tack & nominates us.
And there we go Josh Jenkins has entered the race for biggest flog of Trade Period.
