The Kane Toad thinks Carlton are joint winners of this trade period because of the deal for 3.

F*ck off. F*CK OFF you salty Toad.

Carlton for pick 3 have just paid:

2024 1st round selections 12, 14, 2024 2nd round selection 34 (traded to allow for future deal on 14) and Owies.

If we land Houston from here to add to Perryman it'll be because of:

2025 1st round selection, 2024 2nd round selection 36, Noble and Richards.

So we've traded one more player than Carlton but we'd be getting 2 players in return of higher standrard.

Carlton have traded one more 1st round selection for the return of an unproven pick 3.

Good selection but they hope for a future dual AA while we might end up with one in Houston on top of of Perryman.

So a pick 3 of unknown quality at AFL level vs 2 players of known quality with one in the elite bracket at AFL level.

I know which outcome I'd hope for and I pray we still get it.

Tim Membrey has kicked more goals than Jessie White ever did in a season 7 times. Basically averages about 35 goals a year in full seasons he plays. He's considerably better than Jessie White ever was.

Didn't Membrey pull out of a final due to some "issues".

I wouldn't be keen to get him. Hayes makes more sense.

He wants to come to Collingwood Dave, most likely outcome is he gets there. Port doing some posturing to appease the fanbase and sponsors but will not want a disgruntled player back. They also have to land Richards off us.
Have faith mate.

If he really wants to he'd come out and nominate us. As far as I'm aware Houston wanted back to Vic mostly pies just the front runner.

Just like Petracca should of if he wanted to come. By not doing it you leave it in the clubs hands to try get a bidding war happening, nominate a team and it makes negotiations better for said club acquiring.

Cripps won their B&F and is 29yo
Newman was 2nd and is 31yo
Docherty, Saad, Williams and McGovern are all 30yo

Thats a big % of their best 22.
Yeah funny how the media don’t get on their “lmao they’re too old” argument with them… only with us.

That third section is the most concerning, Doc coming off an ACL, and the other three are a soft tissue injury trio

They must REALLY REALLY REALLY want the next Paddy Dow and will do anything to land him

EFA. This’ll be how the deal improves, but the more I’m thinking the more I doubt it’s strategy and just dumb luck. I don’t think the Port board deliberately leaked the deal, then vetoed it and are now getting GC to sharpen the pencil. I think they stumbled into it as boards tend to do when overreaching.
Don't underestimate Port. They're a little club with no advantages, yet are always thereabouts.

While GC still have pick 13 its still alive.
That’s the key to it and they aren’t moving it because they need to clear Lukocious’ salary to fit Rioli and Noble in. Once again cap space is the most important commodity and GC’s contract with Lukocious has killed their flexibility. They’ll wind up giving ground to Port be it with 29 down to 23 or a F2 as opposed to F1 for Lukocious.

The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if Collingwood bring up Tim Membrey’s name to try and encourage someone like Reef to move to Gold Coast to strengthen our hand.

Tredrea’s their football director. He’s got a brain the size of a pea.

Their FD though is another matter entirely. Cripps, Davies and Hinkley is as strong a group as Leppa, Fly and GW were for us in 22/23.

Based off reports this morning, it’s either us or he stays at Port. North out of the running

Much prefer Membrey to Hayes. Membrey is a proven AFL goalkicker and performer. Wonder whether with his aerial abilities, he can also chop out in defense if Howe is out.
I'm sure I've seen him do it in-game for the Saints

Yep he was almost suicidal if I remember correctly but happy to be corrected.
I think we can all forgive that, sorry should forgive that.
He’s still a good player, and would be terrific depth.
I don’t see Checkers as a lock to stay fit, and his form is also declining so Membery for peanuts is a smart move.
