The Kane Toad thinks Carlton are joint winners of this trade period because of the deal for 3.

F*ck off. F*CK OFF you salty Toad.

Carlton for pick 3 have just paid:

2024 1st round selections 12, 14, 2024 2nd round selection 34 (traded to allow for future deal on 14) and Owies.

If we land Houston from here to add to Perryman it'll be because of:

2025 1st round selection, 2024 2nd round selection 36, Noble and Richards.

So we've traded one more player than Carlton but we'd be getting 2 players in return of higher standrard.

Carlton have traded one more 1st round selection for the return of an unproven pick 3.

Good selection but they hope for a future dual AA while we might end up with one in Houston on top of of Perryman.

So a pick 3 of unknown quality at AFL level vs 2 players of known quality with one in the elite bracket at AFL level.

I know which outcome I'd hope for and I pray we still get it.
I'd be filthy if we did that for an unknown kid in the draft.

The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if Collingwood bring up Tim Membrey’s name to try and encourage someone like Reef to move to Gold Coast to strengthen our hand.

Ideally we just give Reef a run in his actual position or off the half back flank and see if he can play.

This deep forward stuff is crap.

If nothing else, today’s reactions to the blues/WC trade has certainly outed a lot of posters who aren’t capable of looking at the bigger picture.
Praising the blues for paying more for pick 3 than they could have paid for an established dual AA in a position of need is baffling. Especially in what’s meant to be such an even draft.

WC getting a very good, and almost guaranteed 100 gamer in Baker for a 9 pick slide is good business by them.

Tredrea’s their football director. He’s got a brain the size of a pea.

Their FD though is another matter entirely. Cripps, Davies and Hinkley is as strong a group as Leppa, Fly and GW were for us in 22/23.
GW? Surely they'll trade Houston to us for pick 36 and a swap of F1s next year then

We have barely made any material change to the amount of youth coming through. We had already traded our first this pick (for Schultz, who will be much better in 2 years than anyone we'd have picked), and our first next year will be eaten by McGuane regardless.
Our first can only be used once and that will be McGuane and he will be young.

If he really wants to he'd come out and nominate us. As far as I'm aware Houston wanted back to Vic mostly pies just the front runner.

Just like Petracca should of if he wanted to come. By not doing it you leave it in the clubs hands to try get a bidding war happening, nominate a team and it makes negotiations better for said club acquiring.
Nominating a club means nothing. And it isn't particularly clever when still under contract.

Going from Josh Battle to Brodie Kemp is all time downgrade

Pies working the phone on overdrive to trade a player out.

Not sure on the name yet but we are likely needed to cough a player up (not necessarily in the 3 club trade, could be done separately) to help get the Houston deal done.
I’ve bookmarked this one.

Are we really doing this again? Have we not forgot the IQ nonsense from a few days ago?

Mods you’ve gotta tighten up these crap rumours, only allow rumours from credible journos

If GC had any interest in Reef they’d already have him in the deal. Reef doesn’t need convincing, he’s uncontracted and would take any offer at this point.
