Perryman comes in for Sidebottom.

Sidey had a great last 6 weeks, let's not forget he was awful before then.

Sidey should be depth.

He just came 5th in the Copeland. Bit more than depth. "Awful" is clearly wrong.

Im largely with Beeg here. Sidey was awful when he played on the wing - old slow, fumbly. He was okish as a half back (still way below the Sidey we know and love) but was a revelation when played as a tagger. Shut his opponent down, while winning possessions and clearances. Can he sustain that for more than 6 weeks? We shall find out...

FWIW, I nearly fell off my chair when he (and Pendles) finished so highly in the Copeland. Talk about tyranny of the midfield. IMO flankers like WHE and Howe had good seasons, played their roles much better than Sidey did for most of the season, yet this wasnt reflected/appreciated in the Copeland

Speaking of spoon windows. Richmond have all, but locked in a North Melbourne period of ineptitude by trading out their three best players. In response the media are all “erhmagerd the best draft hand since the expansion” and at last look that bounty of draft picks has delivered 0 premierships.

The saving grace for them is that their hand was forced, but to be lauding them and declaring them a “winner” of the trade period is ridiculous. In 3 years time this off season for them will be viewed in a similar vein to Melbourne shipping out their veterans in the early 2010’s and North later that decade. Serious question who are they beating in 2025? They’ll be deathbed Fitzroy bad for at least the next two seasons and that’s if they don’t have Taranto crack the shits and demand a trade.
Agreed - it's very strange position from the media to labelling Richmond as the "winners" of the trade pool right now - 5 years from now we'll be able to make that call because we will have seen what has become of these picks and draftees.

Tbh though - I don't mind the approach from Richmond, it's the polar inverse of us in a way in that they are all "chips in" on starting again - and having 3 flags in 4 years does probably buy them the luxury of a bit of time to fully commit to it before the drums start beating overly loudly.

It will be interesting to watch, as aside from the expansion clubs joining, we haven't really seen such a new build in recent years - even when North went through a similar process they folded and paid big money moves for the like of Dal Santo, Higgins and Polec throughout that time. Will Richmond follow similar and target these sort of types? Or will they fully dedicate to building from within? Personally I hope it's the latter and we see what fully comes of it.

I absolutely love what Richmond has done for the 17 other clubs in the AFL.

Looking forward to a result similar to 2004:

1. Deledio
4. Tambling
12. Meyer
16. Pattison
20. Polo

Notable misses by the Tigers in the top 10:

Jarryd Roughead
Lance Franklin
Jordan Lewis
Chris Egan

You know why the tyranny of the midfield exists? It's because that's the most important part of the field and they are the most important and best players. The only reason non-key position players find out they are forwards or defenders is because they first find out they aren't mids.

Reckon we Sign Membery as a DFA and look to put Hayes and Tomlinson on as Possible Rookies
Probably more delist and rookie some seniors to add to the rookie list to open up senior spots

If membrey takes richards spot on the list
Kreuger opens up 1 spot
So we need to open up 2 more, so prob maybe ash and someone else go on the rookie list. Reef maybe.
