The only reason you would let Bobby go would be if he was desperate to go. Otherwise, stupid call.
West coast would be pretty silly to let Reid go but one player doesn't make a team. I'd rather bring in 2-3 good, solid players rather than one. Imagine bringing in a bloke on 1.5 a year, trading out round 1 picks and he goes down and does a knee in round 1. No depth, no back up, all done.
We're not letting Bobby go.

Watch the footage of that fool Vlahos spluttering out the biggest load of tripe I've ever heard.

No, after an AA season the club gave him a lowball offer and Magic said not enough to keep going so he retired, it's as simple as that.
Thought Davis was planning to retire, decided to play on, but by the time that decision was made the club had already allocated most of the cap elsewhere?

An elite small forward capable of tearing games apart like Bobby is well worth pick 5 there’s only a few players in the entire comp that are comparable. No idea why you’d think otherwise.
I think the story is likely unfounded. He could have chosen a Perth club when he wanted to go to Essendon. A year later he landed at Collingwood. He seems very happy at the club.
Agree re pick 5 value. He's performed in a GF and kicked 5 this week, so one could suggest his form is building.
A beautiful field kick, unselfish and with great pressure. Plus X factor to bring people through the gates.
Look at what Hawthorn paid for Nick Watson (pick 3) last year in a strong draft year.

Rumour or not if they want to go they go. It’s up to the Pies management to extract the best deal for the Club.
Would be happy to trade Bobby and our Allen for either WCE Allen or Waterman.
Then we get Stengel for nothing as a replacement.
Win win all around with a loose to the Cats .

He is close to that if we had to trade him. I don't think you are the best judge of what players are worth from what I have seen of your posts.
I could say the same for you 🤷🏻

Exactly. A 24 year old elite small forward who works hard offensively and defensively, brings his team mates in to the game rather than being the typical selfish goal kicker, who’s also a Norm Smith medallist. At this point pick 5 would be a bargain, it’s actually astonishing how his stocks have soared in the past 18 months and clubs would be lining up down the block for a pick 5 trade value.

My mail is bobby and management think we are probably underpaying him.
Yes because he definitely won’t be appropriately remunerated on his next contract at the end of 2025 🙄

I assume this story is bs but I like talking trades.

He is not quite worth what this guy was worth at 22.

But I think we could do better than

But hey top 3 pick for sure if we had to trade him.😅

You do understand that neither of those guys were contracted right? And at that point Rankine was about as consistent as Bobby was when we traded for him, but a former pick 2 with no health issues.

Where did I say top 3 pick?

He is a genuine matchwinner, Norm Smith medallist (big game player), and is that spark that can light up the team when we are playing ordinary football.

He is probably the most dangerous small forward in the game.

And fans go to the game to watch him play.

Barass and their 2nd (or later 1st if they have one).

He is great but that game this week was his best game ever, maybe baring 1. He does lots of nice things, but he is a 1 game in 8 superstar. 7 out of 8 of his games are above average forward pocket games.
Let's say for arguments sake Bobby is worth pick 5. He probably isn't but let's say we are forced to trade him for that.
West Coast would want pick 1+2 for Reid
While we are offering pick 21, 23, 5(Hill) and Allan.

It's a win for us that trade.
Absolute rubbish mate. Fly and Wright would be rolling their eyes in disbelief from all the crap written here.
Bobby, Edward and two firsts. Feck me

Going to be a long bye week.

So far we have Harley Reid, Christian Petracca, Bailey Smith and Tyson Stengle joining us for the 2025 season.

First look at Rankine's year that year it was a better year than any year Bobby has done. Plus Rankine was 22 so he has more room for improvement. Rankine was rated slightly less than pick 5 just a couple years ago...... interesting.

You said "At this point pick 5 would be a bargain". So I made an assumption about you thinking he was worth more. Top 3 was a guess by me. My bad if wrong. Although you went on a couple times about me rating him slighty less than pick 5 so I guess you just like to argue for the sake of it.

Sorry mate. Sometimes you are just wrong. There are 1sts and then their are top 10, top 5 or top 2 picks. Collingwood 1sts are usually just top 2nd round picks in all but name. Plus Harley looks like a Nick Daicos talent.
What would you prefer:

Nick
or
Bobby, Allan, pick 21 and 23.

I understand you love the look of Allan but......... It's at least close if you look at it that way.
Plus it's is the trades thread. We all love Collingwood but why do we get shitty when talking about hypothetical trades.

Alex Condon's management and the club will sit down and have talks in the next few months as he gets to the 3 years unregistered; which is the starting point where you can add someone as a cat B, and talk about what that may look like as a cat B contract for 2025 onwards, even though he is still aiming for NBA as unlikely and hard as that may be.
Reckon there might be some hoops to jump through if we were planning on signing a US college kid without impacting his amateur status. A college player signing on as a professional sportsman is very different to copping some NIL dough.
