Pettifer and Rory Hilton to Albury Tigers, that's the word

Pettifer, if he plays country footy next year, will be back at Kyabram under Dirty Dave Williams, who he has a lot of respect for.. He heads back to Kyabram often, has a lot of mates there, and they'd have enough $ to accommodate him.

What's the word on Hilton? Last I heard he was playing B-grade ammo's in Melbourne and then retired due to work commitments..? I think Albury's current crop of on-ballers are of equal, or perhaps better than what he would be now.

He was certainly at the Tiger's clubrooms on Sunday night, along with a big ruckman.

I know they have made a few phone calls to them..

It would seem a bit strange though considering the Lavi thirds won the flag in the O&M and had a squad of around 30 for most of the year. On top of that the Panthers under 16's won the flag in the AWJFL. It'd seem like they've got enough players coming through.

I'm not sure timba would be looking to top up the senior list with Raiders thirds when he can do it from Lavi.

Can you see why it seems a bit odd?
Do you know who called them?

I can see where you're coming from, and it seems logical to promote their own, but unfortunately it's been a tradition at Lavi over many, many years, to buy in rather than give their own good kids a run. Harsh but true.

Whatever works for them i guess.. do you know anything about the 3 youngsters in Learmonth Mccudden and spencer?

Spencer is the only one I can remember having seen during the season, and it's not hard to realise why, he's a big unit, kicked 64 goals for the season (2nd to Richard Dennis from Lavington), suprisingly skilled and mobile for his size, listed as 186cm and 110kg in the critic, so at 18 and not meaning to be harsh he either needs to grow a few more cm or drop a few kilos.

In the grand final critic McCudden is listed as 18yrs, 181cm, 75kg; Learmonth 16yrs 184cm, 79kg.

But I would guarantee how accurate those stats are, having said that, young Spencer would be every bit of his 110kg.

Thanks for that Mccudden came 2nd in the league b&f is that right?

Hey where it all began I think you may thinking of albury and nth albury who buy all the players in Timba has been using alot of his juniors and locals the names of garland aalbers palmer stevens hartley dess lee quickly spring to mind where do I stop and buy ins neely fulton are probably the only big names so I think you may have that one wrong.

To beech boy after the way lavys 3rds dominated raiders on 4 occassions this year I dont see why Timba would be chasing there players . maybe the Raiders Boys want a change and are putting feelers out themselves. I dont think Lambo will let them go in a hurry

Can someone tell me if jon mccormick won the league b and f this year and also if he did need a knee reconstruction? Have heard that he is playing in Geelong next year for the Grovedale footy club along with a bloke named mullins? Would appriciate any info lads.

yeah mullins had a decent year, kicked a couple of bags, would be a very good player in any major country league

Thanks again mate. Was told that Grovedale pretty much had these 2 blokes to play this year but i think one of them had a younger brother and the club couldn't find him a job. Hopefully Mullins is heading over this way as we are lacking a good forward that can kick over 50 goals a year for us.

I heard from a very good source that he was drowning the sorrows at Yarrawonga as he is a very good mate of their coach?? Could be a tug-a -war between Tripp and Joss???

Not sure about the unhappy Roos, reinstated Tossel as coach, would have thought that a popular vote, I’d suggest he’s merely minding the job though for a season or two. I wouldn’t mind betting that Lee Schmidt will be back in a season or 2 from interstate and with a wealth of interstate experience behind him, you can pencil in Corowa’s favorite son to be player-coach at some stage.

Have heard some rumours of a few Corowa players moving on for various reasons but have already lost a few local kids due to unhappiness so could it be an underlying reason for more departures. . you say Tossol may be only minding the job if so who for ?
Wouldn't it be interesting to see the victor of a bidding war between Joss and Tripp for a player like a Petifer. .

Some of the best and fairest winners from the different clubs if people wanted to know

Andrew Hill took out Wangaratta Rovers’ best and fairest ahead of Daniel McLaughlin and Ross Hill.
Lachlan Raven won the Hawks’ reserves award, with Jedd Larkin named the thirds’ best.

Brad Horn and Matt McDonald tied for North Albury’s top honour ahead of Dan Leslie, while Chris Taylor was named the Hoppers’ reserves best and fairest. Charlie Graeber won the thirds’ top gong.
Horn and McDonald beating Leslie really surprised me.

Anyone know who won the Bulldogs best and fairest?

In other news Yarrawonga has lost Tim Hargreaves as he has played his last game for the Pigeons after taking up an offer to coach Mulwala in the Murray league next season.
