Win it with 36 points?! You are dreaming PETA pumpkin eater. Wang has no chance of winning a cup in point, just buy foreign talent in, always have always will. The club across the road is a far better example of fostering up local talent. Get off your high horse PETA, don’t know how you’re allowed to contribute your dribble to this Forum.🤣🤣

Also to note, they won it with 37 points last year. Will drop a few with players recommitting again.
Why did your beloved Rovers need extra player points with the abundance of local talent they are fostering?

Maybe the correlation between the points system and the SC is out of whack. Are there too many points to use for the amount of salary cap there is? Isn’t the whole system designed to have mostly locals and top up with a few recruits? Seems like it’s more like 50/50 at these “big clubs”.

I totally agree. Been banging on about this for awhile. Points need to come in.
Clubs, like Myrt, North Albury, Corowa and Raiders deserve to have additional points to enable them to get players into their club.
It’s worked for Rovers after they played a whole season without a win.
It’s then up to those clubs to recruit well, find 100+ game players and foster local talent (1 pointers) so they can have sustained competitiveness in the comp. If you look to find 1-2 year guns to come in you will end up back down the bottom pretty quickly once the points come in after success

Your first line seemed normal, the following dribble must’ve come once you put your tin foil hat on. The carry on is extreme, take a breath

Tin Foil hat? You don’t think a court appeal over a local football premiership would hold serious dangers for witnesses when most likely there was cheating going on?

Heard Wang are considering a legal appeal.

Might seem like a good idea to a few but when you lie in court and withhold facts, documents etc it’s a lot more serious than at your local football board.

They’d be opening a huge can of worms and if they did cheat they’d be expecting players, officials to commit perjury.
In your wisdom you are suggesting Wang would expect players, officials to commit perjury?

Amazing

As has been shown this week, the only way to be 'fair and equal' is a sensibly structured points system, not a 'may as well not be there' salary cap. Seems the only way for equalisation... thats if that's what they want.

The boss of O&M was just on SEN and said he can't see a court challenge as they clearly broke the rules
Without knowing the finer details they could have a very good case of winning a court hearing.
Any legal case would be very reliant upon the leagues rules and processes followed by the league to arrive at their decision.
AFL’s fines and Penalities have little chance of holding up unless they are referenced within the leagues rules .
Additionally it would be interesting to see if the O&M have demanded the return of the premiership cup ?

League had no say in the initial sanctions from AFLNEB.

It read like that which is ordinary form and disrespectful of the O&M board . If not defined within the leagues rules the club should ignore or fight AFL NEB’s penalities if only to send a clear message the club won’t be sanctioned by a party for whom they have no formal membership of .

Have you read league by-laws. They are basically all written in a way that the leagues can do whatever they like.

I think they may have wanted to fit the initial sanctions. But, didn’t want to risk the premiership being stripped off them.
Haven’t heard if they will fight it now or not. Is it now too late?
Think it’s getting to the point of how much would you want this to keep dragging on? Season start is 9 days away.

Majority of Wangaratta rovers top end players that are local talent.

Majority of your/Maggie’s top end is all Melbourne and Alice springs imports.

Do you fly them down from Melbourne to Wangaratta and forget to put those airfares in the salary cap also similar to the Alice Springs saga?

Bordignon
Van Berlo
Richards
Clarke
Porter
Kelly
Sharrock
Melville
Newton (8th year at club)
Grossman (13th year at club)

I’d say local top end talent. With no planes involved.

Now do yours….
