Anything McAvaney ever says about Lance Franklin or Cyril Rioli.

McAvaney in the Cats v Pies match 3 minutes before 3/4 time "You just get the feeling that if the Pies can kick four goals in three minutes....." WTF? They've struggled to kick four goals in a half, now they're suddenly going to kick four in three minutes? So what, they would go into the final quarter only 12 goals behind instead of 15?

McAvaney should be banned from commentating Hawks games, and any game involving indigenous players.

A few seem easily annoyed by words or phrases i would just call traditional footy speak thats unique and been around for years:confused:
It's footy, if you want sophisticated words or poetry read a book.

Anyway a few pearlers in here. One I've noticed a lot lately is when players/media say something like, "we come out after half time and really lifted". Bill Brownless is the worst offender. anyone else heard this?

The one I can't stand which the majority of commentators use these days is:

[statement] followed by, "no doubt about that".

And it's almost always about something where there is considerable doubt. Drives me mad - a stupid way that commentators try to add authority to their crap.

For some reason Dwayne Russell seems to commentate every Sydney game.

At least 10 times a game he uses the phrase Player X "can get and go".

Absolutely infuriating. He is a dick.

Usually during half time or the wrap up Bruce McIvaney will be talking then say the last bit of the sentence really slowly and pause between each word

"demons play essendon this week and then..finish..with...the bye"

Yep, thats just footy talk though, anyone you speak to who plays football doesn't know how to use "come" in the right context. Its a past tense verb you idiots!
