Is the cheat any chance?

The 24 7 has given the impression that he is a big chance given Manny's so called poor training camp coupled with his many distractions.

Margarito could step in to the ring up to 20 pounds heavier than Manny. I still think Manny's superior speed will be far too good for Tony Marg.

Pac Man with a knockout in the 6th is my tip.

Re: Pacman v Margarito

I haven't seen the latest 24/7, but from the first two episodes I tend to think that HBO is overstating Pac's poor training camp in a bid to create more interest in the fight.

To me, it should be an interesting fight given the difference is size between the two fighters. In that sense, it's a bit of a risk for Pacquiao, and one that Floyd certainly wouldn't even consider taking. I still think the congressman will have to much for Margacheato, given that he's simply just the superior fighter.

Re: Pacman v Margarito

loved pacman talking about the hand wrap incident and how margarito supposedly didnt know what was going on.

why do they need subtitles when pacman is talking, i dont have any trouble understanding the mans english, the average american is so thick

Re: Pacman v Margarito

I also think there's not much to read into the poor training clips. No doubt Margarito has had similar moments in his camp.

Pacman and Freddie Roach are pretty confident.

Re: Pacman v Margarito

Shattered. I got a family do on Sunday and I won't be able to watch it live.

Recently saw Margarito's camp givin shit to Freddy Roach and his parkinsons, so I wouldn't mind if Pacquiao knocked him out. I think Margarito's got a chance though - I don't really rate Manny's defence and Margarito will be coming forward all fight.

HOPING for a entertaining fight with no holding and/or head clashes!!!! In a way I want Pacquiao to lose so that he doesn't walk away from the sport and become a full time congressman like 24/7 has implied.

Re: Pacman v Margarito

Can't wait for this!

Just ordered it so me and the old man can watch it tomorrow.

Go Pac - Man!!

Thank god it's on a Sunday (Our time) and not a Monday!

Horrible luck, I tend to find that my family is also good at arranging things when I've got something better to do.

On the fight, I really can't wait, should be an interesting affair.

Re: Pacman v Margarito

i reckon the last 4 fights manny has been going into they always talk about how his opponent is going to be much more heavier and they never end up being that way sometimes manny even ends up heavier!!

Go pac man!!!

Re: Pacman v Margarito

Great win by Manny, completely dominated a much bigger opponent in Cheatarito. Duckweather will continue to avoid him after this performance.

Re: Pacman v Margarito

Pacquiao is always worth the $50 it costs for the PPV. Complete shut out but so entertaining to watch. Margarito would have to have the best chin in boxing.

Re: Pacman v Margarito

Great win by Pacman,It was a demolition.
His work rate as always was phenomenal.
I've watched his career from the start and have never been disappointed watching the great man fight.
Hopefully it's Kentucky fried Floyd next.
Great heart from Marg. Never stopped coming forward.

Re: Pacman v Margarito

Pac Man absolutely destroyed him! He was a true sportmans in the final round by not doing the easy thing and KO'ing him.

Still think they should have called the fight towards the end, I'm sure Margarito wanted to keep going for his own pride but there is a point where it's no longer safe and some serious damage could have been done.

I honestly hope sometime in the near future that the Mayweather fight happens!

Re: Pacman v Margarito

Will watch soon, but no real suprises. But that was a 17 pound heavier Margarito. Not to mention the reach.

Still bloody impressive, even if the outcome was already set in stone.

Re: Pacman v Margarito

Even though one sided, the fight was great viewing. Marg got his stripes back today. Manny is a freak of nature plain and simple. His sportsmanship in the last round is the reason why he is idolized around the world by so many people. When quizzed by that stupe Mario Lopez after the fight why he took it easy, he baulked at the question with true modesty. If that had of been Mayweather on the other end, Manny would of put his lights out.

I am still puzzled how Karass lost the fight before the main event. Jones is a very lucky man.

I cannot believe the last fight of the undercard either. Sure that Jones bloke beat the shit out of him in round 2 but other than that he got his ass handed to him

Manny never disappoints. All class - his speed is astonishing.

Re: Pacman v Margarito

Wouldn't happen anytime soon.

Mayweather wouldn't jump into the ring to fight Manny without having fought someone decent beforehand.
And then there's all that other shit.

That was what the Marquez and Mosley fights were intended for, but because Floyd doesn't want to fight Manny, he's decided it's time for another break from the sport.

On the fight itself, only the congressman could make such a one-sided affair so entertaining. He is just a marvel to watch in the ring, his speed, his combinations, his ability to slip out of tough spots whilst making his opponent look ridiculous and, perhaps most importantly, his sportsmanship. He's a very fan friendly fighter by nature, but when you couple that with his personality and work outside of the ring, it's extremely difficult not to like the guy.

I have to give credit to Margarito, though. Anyone who can go 12 rounds with Manny is an excellent boxer, but unlike Clottey, he was always trying to make something happen, even if he didn't really have the talent nor the stamina (towards the end of the fight) to do it. Moreover, to take that level of punishment and to stick it out is a great achievement - heart and determination personified. I think he will have regained some respect within the boxing world as a result of his efforts.

Finally, as much as I hate to say it, that could be the last time we see Pac in the ring. There really aren't any challengers left for the guy, aside from Floyd, who seems intent upon ducking him. I hope those two can figure something out, but I really don't know whether they will or not.

Re: Pacman v Margarito

I actually ended up making it in time for the fight! Swung by the pub on the way home from a family lunch thing and it was perfect timing, heard Michael Buffer making the announcements as I walked through the door :thumbsu:

Can't disagree with what people have said here though. It was a great fight to watch, mainly because of Pacquiao's ability to captivate an audience with his skills. Margarito couldn't use his height/reach advantage at all because Pac was in and out and around him constantly. I take back what I said about not rating Pac's defence, he looked impossible to hit, but mainly because of his footspeed.

Margarito had him hurt at one stage though (I think it was the 6th round?). He landed 2 clean left hooks to the body and Manny doubled over and almost went down. Pac's got a decent chin himself because Margarito landed a massive uppercut and one point too - again when Manny was on the ropes.

I noticed that Margarito never moved his head at all despite the fact that Manny was splitting his guard with straights and uppercuts all night. Manny was hitting something every time he threw, be it face or gloves, which helps if you wanna throw combinations all night like he did.

Re: Pacman v Margarito

Margarito went straight to hospital after the fight. Has a broken eye socket from quite early on in the fight.

"In the ninth round and in the 10th round, I looked at his eyes and at his face and I took pity on him, because his eyes were closing up," Pacquiao said. "He had really, really bad cuts around his eyes."

"I told the referee, 'Look at his eyes, look at his cuts,'" Pacquiao said. "I did not want to damage him permanently. That's not what boxing is about."
