Ok. That makes sense. Trying to sniff out another pick in the 20s this year, using our 2019 second-rounder in a package. That assumes there will be a club with two second-rounders willing to deal one out this year for an extra pick in 2019?

Yep. And this year there are several clubs with two 2nd rounders. Dogs, Suns and Melbourne all have two picks. Swans as well but they are later in the 2nd and getting a tad risky with a Cameron bid.

But why would they give one to us? Why not just use it this year?

Suns for example may have no need for 29 as they landed multiple firsts. They may use 24 so offer them an upgrade on 24 to 20 and a downgrade for 2018 29 to a 2019 35ish pick/

Win win.

Call me old fashioned but I would rather keep picks 20 and 22. Pick up ruck man Bailey Williams - who impresses me greatly, plus best available midfielder and Jarrod Cameron. That would be a nice haul for the future in my view.

Picking up Tim Kelly next year would be the cream on the pavlova. Although I fear the goal posts may shift on us getting Tim at the end of next year.

Wouldn't the Suns just keep drafting?

What's the incentive for anyone to take a downgrade from pick 20-something to our pick 38 in 2019? When we go B2B.

Suns would be crazy to trade 2 and 3 . Lukosiuis and rankine would be massive gets . Both better than a lot of previous number 1 picks . Then they also have number 6 who they could get another SA boy in rozee/hateley .
Then valente/McLennan at 24 .

Keep 4 SA boys together in a bid to retain them all

Isn't he an absolute ball magnet but the knock is he isn't damaging enough?

That's Liam Hickmott, the older brother. Liam is actually ok user IMO. Will is a different sort, bottom aged and a bit more athletic.
