Point missed entirely.

Oh sorry you meant he wouldn't sign on at Carlton, but the issue there is when you register as a player in the AFL you abide by the conditions set, that you will go to any team that drafts you it's not his choice of teams if he enters the PSD. Any attempt to discourage a team from drafting him will be met with draft tampering charges

Don't you understand this?

No he doesn't...

Haven't you seen the AFL draft.. all the players come up and pick which club they're going to and skip off into the sunset..

You do understand a contract requires Danger's signature, don't you?
You do understand that a player cannot refuse to be picked up by a club in the draft if they meet his terms, don't you? Unless they would like to sit the year out...

That's utter rubbish. That requirement only applies when a player is first drafted. A substantive reason for free agency came from the AFLPA who said we'll accept a player has to go where drafted initially but after that the player should have the major say in where he plays. It's the very reason why inevitably players end-up at clubs of their choice. It's the way things get done nowadays.

What? Why would an experienced player have different rules to a rookie in the same draft? Think about what you are saying. It would make the whole point of a draft ridiculous.

You can't continually deny a player choice as to where he plays/gets his livelihood. Watch what is occurring in practice. Players now nominate their club of choice and invariably end-up at that club.

That is because Geelong's (and every other club's) list managers aren't as daft as you. They will agree to a reasonable trade before it gets to the draft. Or else they may not get their man. Otherwise no Paddy to Geelong!!

And the Luke Ball/ Kurt Tippett arguments are irrelevant. They were asking way above value, whereas Geelong's 'official' offer will be affordable.

You are for real, this is gold are all Geeling BF posters as bright as you?
More accurately, are all Adelaide posters as dumb as you?

Now go away and study the AFLPA agreement before you make a further tool of yourself. I'm sure you can find someone who will help you understand it.

Does it once he enters the draft? All he can do is nominate his terms on his contract. So if its 6 years for 800 or whatever any club can take him, they just have to give him that contract. He would then be stuck there for 6 years.

This is friggen unbelievable, what the hell are you doing posting about if he enters the PSD he can choose his club, you do understand how a draft works and I'll try and make it simple. The team that gets the first pick is allowed to pick any player it wants that has nominated for the draft, the the next team gets to pick and so on. It doesn't matter where those players would like to go or who they like or maybe they like the colors of the team. One thing in the PSD is they can nominate a wage which has to be met.

Is that easy enough for you to understand

Maybe ring the AFLPA tomorrow so they explain

Hahahaha

He either isn't all there or under the influence, seriously no one could be that misinformed

If Carlton can't afford danger with their list loosing (Henderson, Judd, Bell, carrazzo, maybe yarran) and their list state, there is somehing wrong with the salary cap.

The Crows are being smart. $800 k makes it hard for Geelong, they can't pay him more as it doesn't fit in the pay structure there. The only way Geelong get him as a FA is if they pay him $1 million per year and make it impossible for Adelaide to match.

Adelaide will match the bid of $800 k. Geelong are going to hand over their first pick in 2015 & in 2016.

Of course any club can offer attempt to lure him. There are clubs who would offer him more than the Cats. In the end it's his choice and up to the respective clubs to attempt to sort out terms or in some circumstances accept the AFL compensation arrangements.
