Opinion Patrick Karnezis - the forgotten forward

I gather most watched the segment on Karnezis on The Club tonight; he seems line a smart, well spoken, switched on kid with a tight knit family. I'm just interested in where people think he's going to end up playing? He is that awkward in between height where he's obviously not tall enough to be a KPP but hasn't really had midfield exposure either. Who is the AFL player we should be hoping he models himself on? He seems an intriguing prospect...

Gunston from the Hawks. I think he is an ideal third tall, but that might not be possible if we play all of Cloke, Reid and White up forward.

Hardly different to roughead, franklin, hale last year.

See him playing HFF or Wing once the tank and defensive side of his game are sorted which I hope of course happens. He has missed a lot of footy with OP and I see no need to rush him at this point.

It's also not that much different to what we are doing now with Cloke, White, Witts and Goldsack (goldsack is 193cm).

It just means that instead of playing defensively, we'd use Karnezis offensively.

My worry with this is that we are clearly a pressure side, and Goldsack has been crucial with his defensive pressure. He may not be putting scores on the board, but his turnovers have probably set up more goals than Cloke and Witts combined.

THe point is that if we can get Cloke, Reid and White firing, we really don't have a need for another offensive player and I'd prefer someone who puts manic defensive pressure on.

If Karnezis can get to that level then he is a lock in the team. At the moment, he probably needs to push out Witts, which would leave White to do the ruckwork. I don't think Buckley will take that punt against West Coast, but I think its a serious option against St.Kilda next week who only have Billy Longer.

Witts is not kicking goals, so Karnezis would surely add more in that regards. I think White can hold up in the ruck as well. I'm not sure where that leaves Karnezis though when Reid returns. He was showing promising signs as a wingman though at Brisbane.

I sort of didn't realise he was only 21. Needs to build up a touch but I reckon he's going to be handy for us. Plenty of time.

Well I have heard the Clubs see’s him as a 18 Year Old Prospect

Karnezis Reid White
Elliott Cloke

Would it work?
White up on the other HFF flank, plonk Faz in the other pocket and you would have the damdndest threatening forward line in the league, but the entries would need to be near perfect as dropping goldy and the little fella out of the team would seriously impact our forward tackling effectiveness.

Cloke has to be dropped .. he needs to reinvent his game/find his mojo/ whatever... just not in the seniors..he is costing us too much going at less than a goal a game and no longer runs and gets the ball upfield.. pathetic contribution this year!

He will make a monster of a full back. I've said this many times. Send him to the twos and see how he goes at full back. Then bring him back in, we've lost brown it seems so the time is now to make this move.

He's still one week away from getting to full fitness, such a ****ing disgrace that we have another bye next week in the VFL.

He was awesome for three quarters today, kicked 6.1 from set shots.:)

That is the concern, did he tire in the last and not run the game out or, was he still tracking well but just didn't get on the scoreboard?
