Way to miss the point, yep.

I understand what you're saying..what I am saying is that I think in some aspects she is correct. I don't like the fact that rich Chinese can come down here with their dirty money and buy up swaths of land/apartments and get themselves a investment visa/PR at the same time.

seriously, I was walking down Lonsdale the other day and a kid no more than 22 is driving a million $ RR, wtf? it begs the question, where is the money coming from? and rich Chinese don't get rich without some kind of corrupt activity.

Australia has a very generous visa system, you got money, you are welcome.

As I said, blame or change the system. We don't need more division based on race in Australia, the innocent get caught up in it.

She'll end up disappointing her supporters, she can't possibly deliver all that she's promising, I'm pretty sure some of it is unconstitutional anyway. It's where they will drift off to that will be the issue next election, 100k+ primary votes is a big bloc.

government does nothing, that's the problem, along with the fact that the population don't demand more checks and the government certainly doesn't use it's austrack resources as well as it should.

She has been planted and will only grow.

Well, many of them don't. In the same class as Russian oligarchs and oil sheiks - high amount of corruption amongst the most wealthy in China. And their money pours out of China as investment into things like residential assets to provide protection to them in case things go **** up in their home country.

If we were asking taxpayers to fork over billions every year on it (and many of the claims made about it proved incorrect) then yeah, a couple of million to check wouldn't be an awful idea.

BTW. Thanks for providing a supporting example for the main point of my post.
I think you'll find that tax payers are actually "forking over billions every year" to politicians and the Government. But the two major parties have definitely said that they don't want to be investigated.

Surely an investigation into political corruption would bring up any climate change gov corruption as part of it all. So why don't we do that instead?

Or... is it actually still just about denying the science?

yeah, but most thought senate reform would see people like Hanson on the out and never to return..sadly, not the case, and was never going to be anything other than a open invitation to a more hostile senate.

no matter who wins Malcolm has ****ed all of us.

I am not the one making the allegation
I realise this but I am still asking the question given that the answer is so important to you.
Maybe you just need to lighten up a bit.
