As long as we are on topStart 2025 on -8 as well?
Yeah he’s clearly content after the long contract. Maybe trade bait next year..keen to keep him as depth for next year. He's got 3 more years. Might crank it up in the 3rd to get another one here or elsewhere.
And yet we made finals last year off the back of Brodie winning clearances and dishing it out to players with said pace and penetration.I will probably get shot down in flames for this opinion but think Brodie shows why he is really just a WAFL player as he lacks pace and penertation and impact with his kicking, yes he racks up possessions but most are handballs
All good, mate. Box on.I fear and envy East Fremantle. I only wish my shitty WAFL club were half as good. For some weird reason I feel like I owe Bigger an apology and hope he finds it in his heart to forgive me. Perhaps money would help.
Priddis won a Brownlow that way.I will probably get shot down in flames for this opinion but think Brodie shows why he is really just a WAFL player as he lacks pace and penertation and impact with his kicking, yes he racks up possessions but most are handballs
Last year we had a hard running winger and an ultra athletic defender/defensive forward who could help to cover for the defensive deficiencies of others. And yet we made finals last year off the back of Brodie winning clearances and dishing it out to players with said pace and penetration.
Brodie has clear deficiencies but that does not mean he can't make our best 22 better. With Young and Johnson in the midfield now, two players with amazing kicks, the combination with Brodie could be very deadly. Or maybe it won't work out. The point is, JLo should trial it out and see if it works or not. Good coaches don't focus on a players deficiencies but on maximizing their abilities.
Then why didn’t we replace it.Last year we had a hard running winger and an ultra athletic defender/defensive forward who could help to cover for the defensive deficiencies of others.
Yeah, obvious recruitment failures. All I can hope is that lessons have been learnt. In fairness, JOM is more accountable than Brodie (but definitely less effective as an offensive stoppage player). Then why didn’t we replace it.
JOM comes in and effectively plays the same role as Brodie.
I think I might hate that contract more than any other on the list and I’m a well recognised contract hater on here. He's got 3 more years. Might crank it up in the 3rd to get another one here or elsewhere.
I thought he looked pretty good in the pre season games too. 36 disposals, 16 contested, 6 tackles and 10 clearances was a very good game, and right before he signed that extension. I don't know why he was poor in the start of the year, but he wasn't any worse than JOM.I think I might hate that contract more than any other on the list and I’m a well recognised contract hater on here.
WTF did he get another 3 years for, he has been quite literally going though the motions since the day it was announced.
I watched him at gather round come on as a sub mid way though Q3 and win the game for us then he’s done nothing since.
About 30 min of useful work for the season. It’s frustrating because he’s better than this.
Could he be the specialist sub next year? I.e. someone that can ACTUALLY impact a game for a quarter and a half? Takes away the concerns about his tank at least
No.I think I might hate that contract more than any other on the list and I’m a well recognised contract hater on here.

Pretty clear who the coaches valued and JOM being into the leadership group meant he was going to get games to generate chemistry.I thought he looked pretty good in the pre season games too. 36 disposals, 16 contested, 6 tackles and 10 clearances was a very good game, and right before he signed that extension. I just want:Pretty clear who the coaches valued and JOM being into the leadership group meant he was going to get games to generate chemistry.
Disagree with that. The first 4 rounds the coaches stuffed up players.
Treacy got one week then dropped.
Henry got several weeks
JOM started off poor, got a reprieve because he got two goals v North.
Brodie wasn’t the only issue.
Midfield got smashed v St Kilda then North.
The lesson from Henry was that structurally he was good to start the year, but once it was evident his confidence and touch were down he was sent to the WAFL for an extended period. Due credit, he put the work in and on returning the evidence is pretty clear he and the team got the pay-off.I just want:
1. Brodie to put everything into having the best preseason he can; and
2. JLo to give him multiple games to give Brodie the chance to put it all together like he did for Henry
He’s 25 years old and spent the season at peel.Brodie is a big part of our long term plans according to CTD, I wouldn't be too worried.
I didn't hear it, but I assume Henry has thanked us for all the fish. The lesson from Henry was that structurally he was good to start the year, but once it was evident his confidence and touch were down he was sent to the WAFL for an extended period. The Drop off in Brodie had the same effects as Freo this year ,.He was very good last year.He needs hard work and desireBrodie is a big part of our long term plans according to CTD, I wouldn't be too worried.
He'll be back in the team next year, one year out isn't going to change anything. He’s 25 years old and spent the season at peel.
His long term future, should be here right now. It’s arrived. It’s not in 2 or 3 years time.
He should be in the team now, if he has a future here.
I think he needs to be back in the team next year, which I think he will. The Drop off in Brodie had the same effects as Freo this year ,.He was very good last year.He needs hard work and desire
I doubt he's on much so I think it works ok for us having him around and able to step up.I think I might hate that contract more than any other on the list and I’m a well recognised contract hater on here.

Better off finding an outside mid with some pace to break the lines and good depth in his kicking (andy, caleb and Jom already win the inside ball)And yet we made finals last year off the back of Brodie winning clearances and dishing it out to players with said pace and penetration.
