Haven't been on the Eagles board for a while, but it's puzzles me that they don't seem to rate Curtln. Might be a bit of an echo chamber thing
I guess the logic is WC aren't likely to end up with a pick in the window to get Curtin(3-6) so there is no point discussing him.

I think Sanders is likely to be available at 8. He is a perfect model of what Geelong need. Unless he is taken before their pick I can't imagine them offloading 8.
Not sure there is 7 open pool talents better is there?

Reid, McKercher, Duursma, Watson, Curtin, O’Sullivan, Caddy?

Feels like Geelong are going to miss by one or two

Well this is clearly the award for dumbest post today...

I'll give you Larkey but who is "????" replacing?

Here's WCE's spine:

Barrass
McGovern
Kelly
Maric
Allen

The only one being replaced with North player in that lineup is Maric for Larkey in the forwardline.

You're either the world's biggest troll, or utterly delusional, to suggest those other players(which includes 'best tall defender in draft', LMFAO) is replacing any of the above.

Please drug test yourself before posting such utter tripe.
I would also take LDU over Kelly, but not by such a distance that it really matters that much.

(I also don't really count midfielders in the spine)

I think that is exactly the 7 people in the open pool selected before Sanders. I think the only one that is questionable is osullivan. Does anyone need a KPD before Geelong's pick? Obviously North and Hawthorn do, but neither will reach for him from top 4 picks I think. The trouble is WB, Melb and GWS are stocked for inside mids. I don't think any take Sanders. But at this point we have completely quit a conversation about pick 1. So I will shut up.

It’s pretty relative to the discussion and regardless, feels like Geelongs pick is the last of the top group and I see no reason for them to drop out of that group

If osullivan is the last man left I can imagine Geelong live trading out of the pick. Their KPD stocks look healthy to me even with esava gone.

Hawthorn will probably shape that bit of the draft.

Really depends if they go for Watson or others.

I think all of Reid, McKercher and Duursma will be gone in the first 3 picks in a TBC combo of North/West Coast.

If they take Watson, then the Dogs I think will take Sanders, in which case Curtin might even get as far as GWS (they might even pass with Taylor, Buckley and Aleer) and Geelong probably trade the pick to most likely North. If Curtin got through GWS to Geelongs pick, I think North will come hard for it.

If Hawthorn opt for someone else and Sanders gets through both Hawthorn and WB, I think he probably gets to Geelong and they keep the pick

All dependant on who holds Melbourne's picks also obviously.

Curtin and Sanders are the most interesting selections of the top 10 imo.

There's a low % chance Curtin might get all the way to Essendon and Adelaide under certain conditions imo.

There's also the possibility Sanders is an earlier pick than some realise, the same goes for Caddy, I could see Geelong selecting him ahead of Curtin in the scenario in which Curtin slides further.

Very possible! I am hoping duursma gets past you though. Fortunately I have a fair bit of faith in our recruitment staff.

Looking back I have tended to make bad choices (I really wanted will Phillips, Tyler Sonsie and Jhye Clark in recent drafts for example)

Hearing WC would trade pick 1 if they were certain that ???? and ???? would be available to them
Can see Kingys analysis now

"Ive done my research and I think North are climbing up the ladder. If you just take a look at the list here. We go down the spine and its like looking at the Milky Way. Star after Star after Star. ??? is the standout to me. He could be anything. He strikes me as a potential Brownlow Medal Winner"
"At FB Kingy?"
"Woah hold on there. What parts of his game do you think are lacking Robbo?"
"Well existing for one"

Is Saunders getting extremely disrespected because he is more boring to watch or is it more of a comment about inside mids being less desirable?

Mostly the latter I think. Very unfair though. I have liked all I have seen of him.

Kelly isn't miles ahead but he did win the B&F this year by a canter, whereas LDU came in 4th, although he did only play 14 games to Kelly's 22, so you'd probably expect him to come close to winning with 8 extra games.

BnF often measure strange things that we as fans can't quite recognise. I stand by what I said that I would take LDU over Kelly, but not by much. Both class acts though, and not the reason both their clubs are in a hole (just like I don't believe newcombe is part of the problem at my club).

I think the Eagles were only really interested in Curtin mid year when he was ranked as the 7-10th best player and had an interest in getting a second 1st all this eagle are desperate for him is East Coast BS

Daily reminder that WC accepted 8 & 12 for pick 2 last year.

Because there was no clear talent at 2 we liked and getting Hewett at 13 was a no brainer when he was a top 5-6 talent.

Sheezel looked pretty damn good.

Not that anyone could complain considering how impressive gibney has been.

I don't think it is a matter of not rating him, more just him not really fitting where our likely pick(s) will be.

Sheezel was the clear talent at 2
Sheezel will be a gun but his first season has been massively overrated. Daicos levels of seagulling and taking kick ins to pad those stats from very good to elite (anyone that played fantasy would know). Not to say he hasn’t had an unbelievable year but it’s definitely not as good as the stats suggest imo.

Think Wardlaw was the one for us anyway and Ginbey and Hewett combined had a far better first season than him. Justifying the trade for the first year at least (and considering Wardlaws hammies were the thing that kept him out again this year it could be a worry for him long term).
