From Couch Coach Phantom Draft:

Jarrad Boumann

Height Weight 5m 20m Agility Beep VJ

Pre Season 195.6 86.1 1.01 2.88 8.72 12.01 73
Screening 196.4 82.25 0.99 2.86 8.59 12.12 56

Foj1: Jared Boumann 196cm 87kg Dandenong (he had him at pick 37)

Athletic tall who played second, third, fourth and fifth banana to Simpson, Grant, Gaertner and Gabriel this year. However he has the right size and shape to be a key position player at AFL level. His strengths are his hands and his athleticism- like many of his height he will need to continue to build up his body.

If anyone has any more info to add, that would be great :thumbsu:

Thanks for that moe & as you say, he's quick off the mark. Also handy the 2 Stingrays forwards in Boumann & Grant were both pick up by the Doggies.

Make sure the camp area is safe please.

And if any snakes threaten, you handle them please "Swanny"
lol will do its gonna be awesome..
his mums really nice..
she rang my sister yesterday straight after he got drafted and balled her eyes out with happiness and sooo glad he stayed in victoria!!

Notice in the test results ex the draft board that "pigdog" just posted on the Jarrad Grant thread.

That Boumann done the 20 metre sprint at 2.86 even quicker than Grant who we know is in the top 5%.

Having seen a couple of his most recent seasons this selection concerns me as a Bulldog supporter. Clayton has gone with potential more than anything else.

Couple of years ago the kid struggled to get a game in his junior team, growing past six foot helped him get a game at local level but didn't help his football know how.

Sure he can run 20 metres fast and he is tall as buggery, but one thing even rocket wont be able to teach him is putting his head over the pill.

As a doggie supporter I hope he can go alright, but id be nervous if i were Clayton... :S

Pretty happy with his other selections tho.

I played on him in under 16/s or 15/s wasn't much back then just about 192cm but must have exploded after those years.

Dunno about this pick up
Nathan Thompson was slow and overweight in under 16's but he turned out ok, let's give the boy a coulpe of years and then we can comment. Same applies for all the draftees give the boy's a chance to settle in with no pressure, so we can see the best in years to come.

i think he looks a good pick.
He's got all the right attributes,

you can't accurately pick a tall draftee on performances in junior footy.

it's a best guess scenario.

Either way if he can put some size on he'll be a 200cm mobile player.
If he can learn to find the pill a bit he could be a serious weapon.

We'll see how he goes.

Be fair to at least give the kid a chance before slagging him off.

EVERY selection is based on potential, from number 1 to 101, Jesse Wells was a punt, as was Tom Williams, Brian Harris was a punt, no one rated Dale Morris, see where i'm heading?

;)

Tom Williams had barely touched a footy but was a MASSIVE punt at pick 6, how is he travelling right now?

Jarrad Boumann

With murphy out for a few week, we do not have much down forward. Does anyone else think that we should try Jarrad Boumann. He is a big body down forward which we didnt have against geelong in the final. stands at 196cm and 85kg. What does everyone think?
