No, he needs to be able to do it against genuine tall timber. Next week he will get that chance. Until then, the jury is still out. He has done well this year considering his physical limitations but that can only take you so far..

On the game. Collingwood will run amok. Before the game hawthorn supporters will be referring back to 2008, because thats relevant.. After the game hawthorn supporters will be non existent as usual. All and all a good friday night in my holiday house in lorne i assume.

the hawks tonite won a pretty piss weak final , apart from the third qtr there wasnt much pressure and comparing the hawks bottom tier players too the pies it adds up too a flogging..

not sure why this is even a thread we all know what everyones response is going to be, keep hearing the hawks backline is shit and the pies will expose it, that will happen if they dominate the clearances and through the middle, how good did the pies so called legendary defenders look when the cats slaughtered them through the midfield 2 weeks ago? very ordinary, every backline will get exposed if there is domination in the midfield from the other team and if pies fans and other fans cant see that they dont know much about the game. If we win the midfield we have enough firepower to expose their backline, it will be very tough but we are more than capable, non negotiable next friday night.... must play 4 qtrs of tough hard footy not 3 qtrs and basically roll over in 1 qtr like tonight.

Ever thought that Gibbo is maybe a superior player to Maxwell?
Not expecting much tbh. We'll have to play 4 quarters of consistently good football to win and just don't see that happening. We're a chance but not a big one.

Pretty confident we will win this, Hawthorn are a class below the top 2 teams, "best of the rest" but won't be able to match it with the big boys.
You are probably right it would be a huge upset if we won. You have every reason to be confident.
I am just happy we didn't go out in straight sets to be honest. At least we have won a final this year.

Nah, the other prelim will be much the same - the favorite winning in a canter.

We don't have the luxury of having players like Tarrant, Ried & O' Brien in our defence Gibson is the main man and has done a wonderful job considering he is shorter and lighter than most of his opponents.
if you took blair out of collingwood and put in gibson collingwood would be a poorer team for it. see what i did there?

Collingwood weren't cold. Just desperate for a bye after twelve successive weeks of footy which was longer than any other finalist. St.Kilda looked average against Sydney after ten successive weeks, so this weeks bye is well placed compared to Geelong's, which isn't after only three weeks.
This is often where finals are won.
I don't know where you get your info from but it is either a bit outdated or a wives tale!
