Mayes apparently had some fairly serious personal issues which would've affected his game this year (and are the main reason he's looking to come back to SA in the first place). He'd been tracking pretty well previously. Showed a lot more at Brisbane than the likes of Meyer and Toumpas did at their previous clubs.

I have stopped responding to negatives comments regarding Mayes. Basically know-all tossers, who only see him play one game per year!.

He is a really solid get if he comes to Port, and will play out the rest of his career here as a valuable part of our next premiership team!!

Could have been a smokescreen by Cripps. A lot going on behind the scenes that Cripps didn't want to disclose. Port is probably trying to secure a higher pick, with Chad's move to Hawthorn involved.

Anyway Cripps simply voiced what all in the industry KNOW as well as Power supporters...no issue

I think amon will be part of the wingard trade.
