Because they badly need a dynamic ready-made player up forward, whereas Burton is sort of sitting alongside Smith, Burgoyne, Birchall, Sicily and Howe. And while Burgoyne and Birch are getting on in years, the Hawks probably back themselves to trade in a replacement for them in a few years when it comes to that

We'll never know the truth, but I'd love to know what our goals were leading up to and including this trade period. Last year it was pretty clear. If it was to improve our draft position, then at what cost? How do we measure our performance?
