Judd_Magic I'd keep your team the way it is, I reckon Lucas is past his best he's over 30 and had trouble securing a contract which kind of shows were he's position with the club. With a limited pre-season after his knee injury and with a change of roles due to Gumbleton, McPhee, Neagle, Lloyd and Hille all pinching TOG in the forwardline, I really can't see him scoring above 70.

it's good to see you two playing nicely. :D

Wow......does that fit under the cap? If it does that's a talented squad.

I reckon there is no doubt JuddMagic has one of the strongest lineups to be posted here, he also has the players that have been debated about most.

My lineup is very similar to his, main differences being a hill/petrie ruck combo allowing me to get an extra gun in my backline (reckon raines, malceski, houlihan all together just too risky for me), and lucas over hentschel, which im still waiting to see how lucas goes pre-season. if his body looks good think most ppl will get him.

what are people thoughts on swallow?? will he break out? got him over masten right now, allowing me to have ablett in there

Think he's ready just a matter of wether or not the coach is. If Laidley plays him expect a good return but theres no gaurantees after him falling out of favour last year.

I'm still not sold on Masten either. The kid has talent but i'm not sure he's shown enough to warrant 22 games from Woosha or 300K out of my supercoach salarycap.

After Palmer's stellar first season is he capable of backing it up and becoming an elitist like Selwood, Murphy and Gibbs have done in recent years or will his disposal innefficiency keep him as an above average SC and maybe a more suitable DT candidate?

Thanks Shotgun. :thumbsu: Only minor tinkering from here on for me. I have a couple of players that could change but I reckon I have the team template set. :D

Certainly does mate. I have worked dam hard on my team and been burning the midnight oil (lots of late nights LOL!)

Still have $5,800 left over in the kitty too. 3rd year of supercoach for me coming up so I ain't a noobcake. :p

Anyone got thoughts on Stanton ??? Although he was a slow starter last year he turned out to have a fairly good year in a youthfull and inexperinced team. I think he may still improve a little more !

I agree with your comments 100%. If he improves I expect it will only be by a little bit this year. Bloody good player but not yet a gun.

It was Harris who had the falling out with Dean last year. Swallow got injured early on, lost his pre season momentum and couldnt get back in the side.

Heard Leon Davis had a scintillating last month or so of football last year (I was overseas at the time), primarily as a midfielder, less so a forward. Racked up points in SC I suppose? Cos he seems rather pricey for someone who, while he is talented, isn't a midfield gun just yet. IMO of course.

Anyone believe he can have a whole year in the middle tearing it up? Is he worth the risk, given his inconsistent past? For the money, I'd be leaning to no.....

any thoughts? As a pies supporter, I'm intrigued by Neon's progress. :)

Here's a name I haven't heard mentioned, Dale Thomas.
No 2 draft pick going into his 4th year. Cheap at 420K. Has been talk of him moving into the midfield more. Has really bulked up a lot in the preseason and is apparantly really fit.

Notoriously inconsistent and usually too much flair in his play. 1st outing in NAB cup I was expecting more.

He's not in my team but am surprised he hasn't been discussed yet. Could this be the year he delivers on his potential?

Depends all on how fit he actually is now and whether he genuinely wants to be a serious midfielder. If he stays as a half forward, I don't think he's worth the time in SC but if he moves permanently into the middle and has short stints up forward, then he could be a gun pick-up.

Has all the talent in the world, can run hard and has good disposal and evasive skills. Now he needs to step up and his fitness is paramount to this. In fact I will take it a step further and say Collingwood NEED him to step up also and become a gun midfielder. Both he and Pendles need to have a big year.....

I had Thomas in because I think he will do it and shock some ppl but then I took him out, just not quite sure WHEN he may break out, may not be till 2010 and there are other better options currently for SC.

there is a defender who will cement his spot in his team this year but no one has mentioned him, i'll let you guys figure out who it is

Presti? :p

My player would be Wells to really step it up. At least SC wise running across half back he could be a steal at 470 or whatever it was.

Nothing wrong with the rest of my team dude. ... my team is super balanced with a good spread of stars on all lines! :thumbsu:

Yeah, not entirely sure how a team can be 'super balanced' when you have 4 players who are genuinely 50/50 to even get a game, let alone score their 20's!!

Reasonably average, over-reactive side for someone so experienced**

** (Un-NOOB-cake-ish, at least...)

i have a few names for discussion....

Jobe Watson
Shaun Higgins (Extremely cheap!)
Jarryn Geary
Nick Malceski
Farren Ray

All at reasonable prices with Jobe the most expensive out of the lot at nearly $500k.

I also have Ablett and Judd and I don't own another midfielder over 500K let alone another 2 over 550K.

Sound thoughts GmeUp.

I have tried this theory and I quite like the look of my team.

Just picking the right mid priced mids is the key, which after extensive study Im sure I have. :thumbsu:

Um, yeah, whatever jiboni

Considering I have got alot of positive feedback on my team I think I can be fairly confident that it will do well.

When I say my team is super balanced I meant that it has 3 to 4 stars on each line and two in the ruck. The other mid to cheap priced players are all showing signs such as houla hoops, skippy, raines, higgins, Ziebell, Rich, Hasleby, etc and I also have past SC guns such as C.Cornes and Malceski that I think can go back to their superstar selves.

I think someone is just jealous that their team is shit and wont be going places.

Nice try noobcake! Care to show your team you keyboard champ?

Jobe Watson has improved with his use of the ball
Shaun Higgins (Extremely cheap!) talent and a bargain but can he stay injury free
Jarryn Geary wont be a consistent starter
Nick Malceski
Farren Ray his use by foot is still questionable but will rotate alot through hbf and the middle, from what i have seen he is starting to go get his own ball and tackle also
