Yeah it's a really awesome game to just chill out to. For a console port it also controls really well. I'd love a sequel that includes features that some of the PC mods that help with things like traffic management but it still holds up well. Every few months they are still releasing DLC and content packs which are fun ways to do interesting new things. The base game was on PS Plus at some point and I'm not sure if it's included in any current Plus tiers but the game and all of the DLC is regularly on sale.
2nd was FIFA 22 which the kids played.

Is there still no way around the 9 tile thing?

Unfortunately no. Was hoping for a next gen update or something that could expand the 9 tiles but that doesn't look like it will happen. Besides performance reasons from the previous hardware it might be an engine thing too. Older versions of Unity had calculation issues with floating point precision rounding which got less accurate as game worlds got bigger. At this stage I think we can just hope for a sequel.

I really loved my time with Skylines on PS5 but I lost interest once I got to a mid-sized city and the (lack of) traffic management became an issue. Couldn't fix it for the life of me, got frustrated and didn't go back.
Couldn't imagine playing Skylines without Steam Workshop. Can't imagine it works that well on a gamepad either.
