More billionaire appointments
US President-elect Donald Trump has named billionaire Scott Bessent as his Treasury secretary, choosing the hedge fund manager to help execute an agenda promising tax cuts and tariffs.
Bessent, who is chief executive officer of Key Square Group, has called for an extension of tax cuts from Trump’s first term, wants to reassert American energy dominance, and believes it is necessary to deal with the budget deficit.

Not looking forward to the trolls extolling the benefits of supply side econ because the 1%ers know best how to grow the economy. They'll create jobs left, right and center, it will be the greatest economy in history! :rolleyesv1:

Discounting in their ignorance all the experiential evidence to the contrary since the 1980s.

And the rubes will fall for it again like an avid watcher of TV evangelists promising them prosperity, salvation, and virgins in heaven, because Fox etal will support it.

President-elect Donald J. Trump on Friday selected Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, a New York medical director with family ties to his first administration and a Fox News contributor, to be the next surgeon general of the United States.
Dr. Nesheiwat is one of five New York City medical directors for CityMD, a chain of urgent care centers across the region, according to a spokeswoman. She has contributed to Fox News since the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, speaking about Covid-19, mpox and the importance of cancer screening tests, among other topics.

Her sister Julia Nesheiwat, a former Army officer, was homeland security adviser in the first Trump administration and is married to Representative Mike Waltz of Florida, whom Mr. Trump has tapped to be national security adviser.

So another faux head and with political connections

(In b4 rfk and jfk)

For you russian bots , he was the past surgeon general in trumps first admin

I don't think there will be widespread civil unrest and violence in next year or two (I definitely hope not), but if there is I don't think the factions will be Democrat supporters versus Republican supporters.

It will be a splinter group of disaffected ex-MAGAs aggrieved when they realise they voted against their own interests based on lies, versus the remaining MAGA cult that continue to ignore that reality, as it is easier to double-down than admit all they believe is wrong...and they will blame the splinter group's lack of support/commitment for Trump not delivering.

Its interesting because I remember reading discourse around 2017ish when there were still a lot of Repubs who were unimpressed with Trump and a lot of people thought Trump would lose in 2020 because Trump would stand alone, the Repubs would go back to their "type" of candidates, and Dems would do Dems things.

In the end the opposite happened and the Republican Party should be renamed the MAGA party because thats all it is now. People who were Republicans until 2016 are now being referred to as RINOs.

Yes all well and good and listen, it’s always good to be optimistic but can I just ask, after a lifetime spent making quite explicit that we know never to trust a single word he says, after the incomprehensible word salads that appear to be his idea of “verbal communication”, after the daily reminders he is a malignant narcissist of clinical textbook levels, what makes you confident for one moment that Trump will follow through on a single thing he’s said he’ll do?

The Middle East is a mess but anyone who wanted to punish Biden for it by voting for Trump has rocks in their head.

He's always had someone to implement them for him; often competent people like Cohn, Weisselberg, some his managers who apparently made many of the successful deals for him. His first admin actually had some people who pushed back. Hard to see any this time around. What he farts out, they'll try to make it happen.

Yeah I'll believe it when I see it. I can picture a complete fiasco with Trump off playing golf and people scared to make any decisions about anything, because whenever they do make a decision and then Trump drops in from playing golf and can't see the benefit to his bank account or his ego, he fires them.

Biden is still President and he's said he won't arrest Netanyahu, so what's the difference?

I've said repeatedly, at least everyone else in the world can stop pretending Israel and the USA care about war crimes.
