USA Policy positions of Donald Trump; let's see how many he achieves

President-elect Donald Trump’s team is ordering cabinet nominees to cease all social media posts ahead of their confirmation hearings, according to reports.

The New York Post first reported this directive, noting that Susie Wiles, Trump’s former campaign manager and incoming chief of staff, sent out the order on Sunday. In the memo, she also noted that none of the nominees speak for Trump.
Interesting….

Maybe. It’s a tough job - far too many masters to serve, many with different agendas - and maybe there’s no-one else daft enough to put their hand up for the job.

It’s going to be interesting to see if the “must get the debt down” group in the House holds firm in the face of inevitable pressure (bullying) from the cabinet (and satellite cabinet) billionaires. If they refuse to raise the debt ceiling, along with the Democrats), what happens to the billionaire tax cuts? I think Musk and his DOGE buddies will struggle to make quick wins of the magnitude required.
His master is God and he sees himself as Moses…apparently.
Of course this is bs.

He's an Election Denier MAGA, not a Burn Down the World one. I think he also realizes if the government shuts down it will be him that gets it in the face. He needs some respect from the Dems and few normy Reps still in the House. I am sure he would refuse to certify an election in favor of the Rs given the chance.
He’ll most likely never have a chance to either prove or disprove that last part.

Mike Johnson is right up there with Matt Gaetz as a bizarre administration pick. These are terrible people, Trump is draining the swamp by putting them in his administration: Gabbard, Noem, RFK, Stefanik, OZ, Rubio, Hershal Walker, Patel, Loeffler, Bondi, and Hegseth to name a few.
That’s what happens when the people elect a common gangster to be president of the United States of America.

Is anyone actually asking that question?

Importing cheap labour is not a win at all for the common person.
It is if the reason it's imported is to fill jobs that the common person doesn't want to fill, or where employment is so high, cannot fill, then it actually is good for them. Nurses to care for their elderly parents, people to pick the crops, labour to fill shortages so the common person can still get the products and services they want.

If it's just to undercut domestic labour costs, then no, it isn't good.

But in Australia, it's mostly the former, and even in the US, it's often the former.

I often see people complain about immigrants taking our jobs, but I've never seen that complaint from someone actually wanting to work a job an immigrant took. There are no hordes of nurses complaining they cannot get jobs in old peoples homes, because of all the immigrants. Would kicking those immigrants out and letting the very elderly fend for themselves be good do you think?

Every opportunity they can they link everything to the border.
Of course she was wrong, as usual, but hey another opportunity to enrage the lemmings.

If only MTG worried as much about school shootings

They only care when they can blame immigrants or Muslims, best is if they’re both. This guy was Muslim so they’ll blame that and ignore that he was an American citizen and a veteran.

We need to stop profiling people on the basis of religion, and start profiling on basis of radicalization.

Maybe we could ask what might be happening that would drive people to do this rather than instantly positioning ourselves as the innocent victim.

What a country the US is! What a mess. Visibly divided. The South never getting over the fall of the Confederacy, the John Birch Society in the shadows continuing their work over the decades, at last to find a person corrupt enough to bring their dreams to fruition.
I know all governments are corrupted, the Dems have their own, but Trump, so easily bought, so easily bribed with zero moral compass is their perfect leader.
Meanwhile Thiel, the Mercers, Leonard Leo etc. continue their dirty work. Am sure Mogilevich is in there somewhere too, the grand master of mobsters.

Up in arms about the ‘terrorist’ attacks, up in arms about illegal aliens and violence while at the same time buying gun after gun after gun and their new POTUS a rapist, a felon.

Wish they would leave our fair land out of it, we have our own issues but the Americans like Candace Owen, Tucker Carlson and Don Junior trying to tell us we need to be more like America is absolutely insulting.

Probably more for the Is the US the Worst Nation thread, but two books I feel really strip it bare are Nick Bryant’s fabulous recent Forever War, and going back a bit, Kurt Anderson’s Fantasyland, which was released before Trump won in 2016, but shows how a Donald Trump was always going to come, and had been coming a long time in America. I feel I had the scales lifted from my eyes by both books.

Racism, fear and hate is a vote winner.
We have to pretend that we can't understand why people become radicalised.
Apart from white supremacists... that's 'the lefts' fault for being so 'woke'.

I view September 11 2001 as a case of the bully finally getting a bloodied nose and it doesn't look like the Americans have learned much from it in the intervening nearly quarter century judging by the why would anyone do this sort of rhetoric coming out of Louisiana.
