So obviously PAFC decided it was more important to join the AFL than wear the jumper.Let’s be honest here if PAFC could of worn one jumper when we entered the AFL what would it have been? I think we all know that answer.
So the jumper you won a flag in and Warren Tredrea, Robbie Gray, Travis Boak where and play for every week is junk in the eyes of the fans.Let’s be honest here if PAFC could of worn one jumper when we entered the AFL what would it have been? I think we all know that answer.
At the same time, I can see Collingwood's side of it and what they want to protect. Port have everything to gain, Collingwood have more to lose.
Only if North field 19 playersShould be a good game vs Roosters next week.
Just wanted to make a quick note about this here.If Norwood for some reason decided they wanted to wear a black and white jumper back in the 80’s then I am sure Port Woukd of had a problem with it.

You have to live with the consequences of the decisions you make.

I think it’s a bit different if a team with absolutely no history using colours identical to another club in the competition.
They could've chosen not to join the AFL, no?I’m not sure there was a choice... surely you know that.
Spell checker? Google sees Guernsey as a place and not an article of clothing. Thank America! When did "guernsey" fall out of favour so much? Feel like everyone calls it a jumper these days.
Isn't it a jersey? When did "guernsey" fall out of favour so much? Feel like everyone calls it a jumper these days.
Isn't it a jersey?
But we have history with the black and white.Agree, but now Port want to do that don’t they?
Jersey is the American term. Only acceptable terms are guernsey and jumper imo, but I'm surprised at how little guernsey seems to be used today. Even the players mostly say jumper.
Everyone always said guernsey in Tassie, maybe it's a regional thing.
Most people these days say defender rather than a backman.
And call a behind a point, when a behind only equals one point.
At the moment, I can point to several other examples of this working just fine elsewhere in major professional sports leagues, both bigger and smaller than the AFL. Bulls/Raptors. Maple Leafs/Lightning. Sydney FC/Melbourne City. the entire Premier League and every soccer league really. Patriots/Texans. Western Force/Otago Highlanders. Heaps of different baseball teams.
I've been asking you over about half this thread, as have others, to successfully refute this point if you're going to keep arguing that it would hurt Collingwood for Port to wear the bars twice a year. You haven't even attempted to do so and the post you're making now feels a lot like more deflection and stalling. If you finally construct and post an argument, i'll engage with it reasonably.
So I think we can all agree Ports Prison Bars are nothing like Collingwoods, visually very different even including a horizontal bar terminating the ‘stripes’. They are in fact. a completely different design.
So is it the colours? Or the design? As teams already share the same colours, it must be the design?

How many times do Port fans need it drummed in?So I think we can all agree Ports Prison Bars are nothing like Collingwoods, visually very different even including a horizontal bar terminating the ‘stripes’. They are in fact. a completely different design.

Black and white stripes are Collingwood's colours and design.
The 'Bars contain black n white stripes.
If Port played in black n teal, or silver in teal 'Bars no problems.
Pretty easy transition too. Black n white Bars was part of your SANFL Magpies heritage. You are fine with dropping the Magpies, so now that you are running with Port Adelaide....unify under Black n Teal 'Bars.
Perfect nod to the Magpie heritage, whilst also highlighting the change to Power when Port moved on from the SANFL.
